Guest guest
Good article. I'm just right now watching " What the bleep do we know " on Starz. They are talking about how consciousness can affect reality. They claim that the laws of quantum physics state that we determine, to a large extent, our own reality. I wonder if the placebo effect has got something to do with quantum mechanics? Anyway, it's all good stuff. Guest guest
Having said that, " What the bleep... " is spretty controversial. A lot of the experiments they talk about are not properly controlled. > > > > just another article about the power of the mind on > > the brain: > > > > http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14309026/ > > > > __________________________________________________ > >
Guest guest
this is not kind really related but it reminds me of this technique from this book to fix problems like phobias or habits. Its called paradoxical intention, where if you are trying too hard to fix something it will worsen the symptom, rather to fix the problem you would do exactly the opposite and it will ease the symptom. Like for example for sleeping problem, instead of the person focusing on too much on trying to sleep, will only worsen the problem instead, recommends trying not to sleep. I thought this was sort of interesting because since we are tryin very hard mentally to get aroused or to get up our libido, it might not be helping mentally and if I can remember how I was like before I would try to supress my sexual urges rather than try to encourage it. > > > > > > just another article about the power of the mind on > > > the brain: > > > > > > http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14309026/ > > > > > > __________________________________________________ > > >
