i did have a client who got similar symptoms after a few days of reglan. when she stopped the meds, the symptoms subsided. I don't think we have to really worry about this--just be aware. they're talking about high dose and prolonged use. Reglan has been widely used in NICU's and I can't think of a more vulnerable patient than a premature baby. Maybe this will result in domperidone being available in the US again. Thanks for the heads up Amy. Albanna ARNP, IBCLC

There are class action lawsuits developing related to Reglan.

The research shows this particular side effect is very related to the duration

of use, which is why most of the caregivers I work with will not prescribe this

med for longer than 3 weeks at a time and only 1 refill. End dosing is tapered

off, and generally that is when mothers experience the decrease in volume once

again....
