I have IBS too and I have found that I rarely have an attack anymore. I

credit that to Tae-Bo! Exercising regularly helps me manage stress, which

reduces my symptoms. I have also heard that strengthening the abdominal

muscles is supposed to help IBS (I am not sure why) and Tae-Bo is great for

the abs!!

:)

Wow...How often did you have to workout to lose like that every month?

Believe it or not, I had better results when I did less in the beginning,

losing almost 20 pounds in 2-3 months but it was probably mostly water weight.

my body has more or less adjusted as well as it can to maximum exercise and

has plateaued though I do believe I'm starting to see real fat loss again and

hope that means my increased muscle mass is starting to burn fat after 16

months of working-out. Though I haven't lost all that much weight according

to doctor's scales, I have definitely replaced fat with muscle and have lost

girth. Try to ignore the scale when adding muscles gives you the deception of

becoming heavier temporarily cuz you are actually working towards using that

muscle to become trimmer permanently. It is a slow process and if not patient

and focusing on how much better you feel (more energy, more flexibility, less

stressful), you can set yourself up for disappointment and quit. Keeping a

journal of your feelings after a work-out may help. Hey do an album on your

TAe-Bo journey!!

IMHO, the best way to start is with a Basic every other day then increase

that to 5-6 times a week then maybe slowly add in the floor from an Advanced

2-3 times a week. Also I believe in doing upper body free weights 2-3 times a

week for all older women on the all Basic day or on a free day with or

without another type of cardio.

sounds good but I's make sure to do those free weights at least 2 times a

week, even lighter ones while walking

Tonya,

That is exactly the right attitude! Go by how you feel and how your

clothes are fitting (not by what the scale says)! I am 5'9 and weigh

anywhere between 150 and 155 lbs, but I can fit into clothes now that

before I could only fit into when I weighed 130 lbs! So, it doesn't

neccesarily matter how much you weigh on the scale! Concentrate

instead

on how tae-bo makes you feel inside! When you are truly able to do

that and when you say " hey, I'm not doing this cause I want to lose

5, 10, 50 lbs.....I'm doing this cause it makes me feel GOOD and

because it is making my healthy and strong " ....that's when all the

changes really start to happen! Hang in there! Lots of people gain

a few pounds in the beginning, but if you keep at it....you will

definitely see results :)
