Aloha Ria!

Here is your first paragraph from your post: " Like Wayne, I too am

taking TRT in the form of a gel. My levels of

testosterone are now high normal but the darn drug [Cymbalta] preempts

normal sexual response or drive. "

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am getting my TRT through IM

injections every two weeks. 200mgs/ML through a needle right in the

middle of my buttock. And I must say, I am having about the most

positive results from TRT as one could expect! ZERO to ZERO negative

effects whatsoever. In fact, if it wasn't for my wife whose libido is

the same as mine WAS when we got married but vanished when I started

SSRI's (mine, not HERS - LOL!) I'd have worn several women out by now.

Then I tapered off the SSRI and went from 20mgs to 5mgs! Up went my

libido AGAIN!

Again, Thank the Lord I married the right woman.

THEN I started taking Dexadrine for another medical problem and UP

went my libido yet AGAIN!

Well, even my wife has her limits. Be it a higher libido than what

a 'normal' woman would have, but that's ok. If I have to

take " matters " into my own hands at times, I'll take " matters " into my

own hands sometimes!

The one thing that has always perplexed me about some posts here. How

in the world can one NOT want to make-love practically again just

because of one having an orgasm???

Sorry for the confusion Ria, I don't know how or where THAT came

across, I hope this cleared things up for you.

Aloha from warm and sunny Hawaii,

Hawaiian Wayne

Hi wayne,

Now you're perplexing me. This is much more than just orgasm. I have

an almost normal orgasm, but the sexual desire just isn't there. If

it's not there, it's not there. You can't create it if the

neurochemistry is off. I can still have sex, more or less, but it's a

lesser experience than before.

- BINGO!!!!!!!!! DESIRE AND DRIVE to have sex. But unfortunately for

me the drug inhibits orgasm.

- My experience exactly even with my Testosterone levels being normal

while taking Cymbalta. SO I need an antidote for the Cymbalta!

Hey Vornan & Ria! Didn't mean to cause confusion. but with posts and

email, it's easy to do. For example: Ria posted " All, Like Wayne, I

too am taking TRT in the form of a gel. "

I'm NOT taking my TRT in gel form where one rubs it on. I go to the

docs office and have an injection in our largest muscle. Dose:

200ng/ML.

Vornan: Is my comment in my post; " How in the world can one NOT want

to make-love practically again just because of one having an

orgasm??? "

If so, then your answer ahead of it takes care of it. Thank you.

I'm sorry for the confusion...even though I'm still confused. LOL!

For some reason my total test level was tested normal even when I was

on zoloft. But I know it did something to my hormones, now my skin

cleared up like when before hitting puberty. I think I was very high

testosterone person before. I think zoloft made me somewhat more

feminine. It was wierd because eventhough test was in normal range

estrogen and prosgestoerone were in women level. They told me its

possible error or if its true that I might have some kind of tumor but

now it doesnt surprise me because many had the same story.

I was the same way. Before Celexa I used to have bad acne on my back

and chest. Now it is completely cleared up. And before Celexa I had an

outrageous sex drive. It wasn't unusual for me to masturbate 5-6 times

in a day. But now I haven't had an orgasm in months. My genitals are

so numb now I'm not sure if I can still get an erection. I'm afriad to

find out. I have had doctors refuse to treat me because my T falls

within normal ranges. But I know that 270 is not normal for me. And I

too have had my T and estrogens checked recently. T hovers around 270.

Total estrogens while on TRT was well over 300. I've since quit TRT

and my total estrogen has dropped to 172. Reference range for men is

40-115.

Sounds like steroid hormones CAN NOT have the same affect on the body

while on an SSRI as the hormone receptor sites are TUNED DOWN by the

SSRI making steroid hormones we produce less effective. I never had

these problems with Tricyclics!

We would need to research the effect these drugs have on the pituitary

and our hormone receptors in the body! We need to find published

studies... I bet the drug companies have them under lock and key.

If folks are still having sexual issues AFTER coming off of the drug

then I say it is NOT depression but damage to us (receptor sites) by

the drug itself.
