My reasons for wanting the DS are similar. I know several people that had

the RnY. Only 1 is remotely happy with the long term results. 1 has

regained all but 5lbs of the 150lbs she lost..... she says that when she

stopped throwing up and dumping it all came back. 1 died ... 3 weeks out...

1 that is 4+years out is down about 120lbs --- but has to constantly diet,

starve and counts on the throwing up and dumping to help maintain. I know of

2 others that died in the last few months. I also see a couple others that

are really struggling.

I had vertually given up on the idea of surgery..... and just doing the best

I can ... which seems to be maintaining .... however, my health keeps

deteriating .... then a friend told me about the DS and I decided it was

worth checking into ....

Now, if I can get AETNA to see reason ....

Hoping, hoping, hoping

I have a question for some of you guys who are revisions...Has anyone ever

thought of starting a post op group just for those of us revised to a DS from

another surgery? I know we have a lot of problems in common, and not to be

seperated from this group, but to allow us to address problems of a revision,

that not all post op dsers have...Like feeding tubes, slower weight loss and

that kind of stuff. Would anyone be interested? I know there are a lot of

revisions despite what some docs say...LOL. And until I got on this group and

met the " veterans " who was before me I had never met a DS revisioner. It was

very nice of Bonnie and all who helped me to give me their insight.
