Guest guest
You are doing well, so far, without HAART, but your numbers may someday come to a point where you need it. Decisions about medications can be re-examined every day, as long as you are alive.I hope you don't need HAART, ever, but if you should, keep your options open. There really have been improvements in side effects, and with all the new agents coming, we can hope for even more.On May 9, 2006, at 10:25 AM, PozHealth wrote:I'm not sure if I've had the virus for 15 years, but it wouldn't surprise me. I am also someone that has chosen not to go on HAART medication at this point. My CD4 count is 260 and my VL is about 18,000(Down from over 100,000). The only medication I take is a daily vitamin, and since it's "one a Day Men's health formula" probably not a very effective one at that! I must admit that reading about everyone's problems in relation to HAART meds has made me wary about starting them. Thankfully, my doctor also agrees this is a good decision for the time being and he is an HIV specialist. After hearing all your accounts of lipo, to buffalo humps, to nausea, diharrea, and lethargy....I'm going to hold out as long as I can. As long as that makes sense and my doctor agrees. Healthwise, I feel great right now and by taking good care of myself(cardio, weights 3 days a week, healthy diet, fish oil) I'm hoping to keep a healthy immune system long enough for someone to develop a cure, or Barrowpozbod@...
