Guest guest
Well I went and saw Dr. Honing at BodyLogicMD tonight. Apparently, the branch here in Phoenix just opened in July, so talk about perfect timing. The doctor talked with me about my issues for over an hour, it was great to have a doctor just sit and discuss things without rushing and handing out prescriptions. Progress looks encouraging after comparing the two saliva tests. The first one was done on July 19, the second done on August 30.. The estradiol level went from 1.6 to 0.8 (range: 0.5-2.2), the testosterone went from 74 to 88 (range: 44-148), and progesterone went from 43 to 70 (range: 12-100). The DHEAS is still too high at 32.7, the exact same number I had the first time (range: 2-23), and the cortisol levels again show way too much in the morning, only to drop way to low by noon (adrenal fatigue). What I did between the two tests was: - Adrenal Fatigue vitamins and herbs 3 times per day -Bunch of other herbs I threw in which may or may not help, once each per day (fish oil, cordyceps, spirulina, royal jelly, ginko biloba, ashitaba) -Hormone gels for 2 weeks, then stopped -ring of power (copper/zinc tubes worn around package) -Altered diet to include tons of vegetables, less junk food The blood tests showed that my luteinizing hormone, the stuff that causes testosterone to be produced, was basically halted. His suggestion was to cycle on and off of Clomid for a few weeks to see if it can be kicked back on. I hate synthetic drugs, and gladly I found out that he does also, but this seems like the logical course of action for the moment. I mentioned having tried the gels, and he said that they could work, except that they can't possibly fix anything, just supplement. We also went over my insomnia, which he said might be causing the high morning cortisol levels, and prescribed me some Lunesta. As for the vitamin regimen, I said that I read Dr. 's Adrenal Fatigue and have been taking the vitamins 3 times per day. He told me to double it, and added magnesium to the list. I was also given a list of foods to eat and watch out for, as well as some other info. I will take another saliva test in 8 weeks and see the doctor again on December 7th. Until then, I just have to keep up the diet, keep taking all the vitamins, see if I can improve my sleep, and see if the clomid does anything for the testosterone. So, that's about it for now. Guest guest
Shay, keep an eye on your vision (no pun intended) while on Clomid. I'm currently cycling on and off it, and I also did a " course " of it about 18 months ago. It causes my vision to diminish slightly, and I can also feel slight pressure behind the eyes. This is on just 25mg twice a week. It's a very powerful drug. I actually just took a week off and am planning on cutting back to 12.5mg twice a week. Also, you will probably feel worse while on treatment (slight depression/fatigue), but there seems to be a " rebound " effect, where things start to kick in 2-3 days after your last dose. Try to be patient. Due to the side effects, I'm actually considering switching to Nolvadex, which is another SERM. Some bodybuilders actually prefer it over Clomid to kick in their testosterone after a steroid cycle. It doesn't have the vision issues Clomid had as far as I know. If you have any other questions, let me know. I think Clomid is worth a shot. Guest guest
Two things: Your LH would be low after a course of testosterone gel. This is a normal response to exogenous testosterone. Also, Lunesta is known to lower testosterone levels, so I would be careful with that.
