Lead Poisoning Treatment Less Effective for Mercury

All,

IF the researchers had truly been interested in

improving the effectiveness of the DMSA (succimer)

treatment for reducing mercury body burden, they

would have used DMSA suppositories.

However, the relative effectiveness findings are

generally valid.

For that reason, DMPS, which is significantly more

effective in reducing mercury body burden than DMSA,

should be used -- AGAIN in the suppository form to

bypass/minimize gastro-intestinal upset -- PROVIDED

the child is NOT allergic to DMPS.

Hopefully, when a drug formulation of Dr. Haley's

OSR#1 is " FDA approved " that overcomes the absorption

problems that some (up to one-third) people seem to

have, we may have an even better mercury-chelating

agent that has other positive effects on the recovery

of those who, for whatever reasons, are mercury toxic.

Until then, DMPS remains the most effective " chelating

agent " drug for reducing mercury body burden.

NOTA BENE: If you have mercury-silver amalgam dental

fillings, do NOT attempt to use any of the

preceding UNTIL you have had an IOAMT-

certified dentist properly remove your

dental amalgam fillings and replace them

with a non-mercury-containing filling, cap

or crown, or, in instances where even the

most careful removal of the filling would

destroy the tooth, properly remove each

such tooth containing the amalgam filling

and replace it with an appropriate dental

appliance.

For those who are seeking a more natural way to improve

the reduction of the body's burden of mercury and other

heavy metals, you MAY want to consider increasing the

person's dietary intake of l-cysteine, l-methionine, and

alpha lipoic acid which, along with appropriate levels

of other supplements, will tend to increase the person's

level of intracellular reduced glutathione, the body's

own " natural " chelator for heavy metals and other toxins.

For those who have dental amalgam fillings, you MAY want to

consider the preceding supplementation regimen along with

100 - 250 micrograms of selenium daily to both reduce the

mercury absorption and help the body to reduce its body

burden. In such cases, supplementation with chorella MAY

also be beneficial.

Other supplements, like chlorella, MAY be helpful by

preventing the absorption of heavy metals species from

the gut -- thereby reducing the dietary contribution

to the person's increasing mercury body burden to near

zero.

Hopefully, some of this information MAY be useful to

some of you.

PS: To monitor your or another's mercury body burden,

you should consider using the urine porphyrin

profile analysis (UPPA) tests offered by LabCorp,

or Metametrics in the USA, or Laboratoire pe

Auguste in France (see and study all of the

pertinent information on the " UPPA " web page on

the CoMeD Internet web site:

http://www.Mercury-freeDrugs.org

for detailed information on this test and its

ability to indicate the level of the body's burden

of the heavy metals mercury, lead and arsenic.
