Guest guest
In the following exchange, the limits of web based health guidance by non-medical people are observed. The man with the problem spent the entire day in an emergency room. Is it not likely that several nurses, doctors, and other personel, including his own personal physician, observed the patient, and as such, were in the best position to evaluate exactly what what causing his distress? To assume that from leading the bits of information in a web note that a person with absolutlely no medical training can come to a better than that of an ER team would seem pretty unlikely. There is no substitute for what the senses deliver, in medicine, a picture is better than all the words on the web. There is some good information on the list, but really guys, when you read something here that you find important, please discuss it with your health care provider in the real world. Do not act on the advice of anyone, including myself, without talking to your doctor. He or she knows you. There is no substitute for that. In the mean time, " I'm not a doctor, but I play one on the web, " is not a good reference, and will not allow you admission to any hospital staff. > The last time you checked with your Doctor she believed you simply had > the flu.
