Guest guest
I'm glad there's a product that prevents mold growth on wood, but I hope the solution is not worse than the problem. I hope they are clear on all their additives & ingrediants. I understand that house-shingles often include Zinc, to prevent mold from growing on them. I would like to look in to a zinc-coating, which is already done w/ steel to prevent rust (galvanized metal), as a possible mold-prevention for wood. Perhaps wood would be less likely to grow mold if the tree had zinc available near it's roots in the first place. How about Zinc spikes for a few weeks before the land is cleared? Or a nontoxic coating w/ dilute zinc solution for finished wood. Maybe it's time to look more in to naturally mold-resistant building materials like grounded metal, but the best solution is to have good roofs. Still, I'd like to see what a very healthy building would be like. Very mold resistant, no out-gassing, no chemicals, no flame-retardants, filtered fresh air. How about concrete floors, walls, & zinc-galvanized sheet-metal roofing? No, concrete breathes, but it's cheap and widely available. Linoleum seems to be the best floor to me. Does it out-gas? So many variables involved. OK, best person to ask is a MCS sufferer.
