Guest guest
We had to go to the store the other day and are still paying for it. We got burned by formaldehyde in the clothing. Both my hands are crispy burnt. Our faces and we have been seriously ill with major headaches. Must have been massive amounts in the clothes.    God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: Joe Salowitz <josephsalowitz@...> < > Sent: Sat, December 11, 2010 2:58:04 PM Subject: [] O.T.-Formaldehyde Fumes from Clothing  December 10, 2010 When Wrinkle-Free Clothing Also Means Formaldehyde Fumes By TARA SIEGEL BERNARD The iron, that relic of households past, is no longer required to look neat and freshly pressed. Why bother when retailers like Nordstrom offer crisp “wrinkle-free finish†dress shirts and L. L. Bean sells chinos that are “great right out of the dryer.†Though it is not obvious from the label, the antiwrinkle finish comes from a resin that releases formaldehyde, the chemical that is usually associated with embalming fluids or dissected frogs in biology class. And clothing is not the only thing treated with the chemical. Formaldehyde is commonly found in a broad range of consumer products and can show up in practically every room of the house.  http://tinyurl.com/37syapy
Guest guest
Hi Mayleen, Here is the solution to your problem. I discovered this solution to your problem, accidently, as a side benefit of getting fat. I decided that it was a waste of time to sort through stacks of clothes, in the stores, to find the 1 or 2 items they had, in my new enlarged size. So, I started buying all of my clothes from mail-order catalogs for large-size men. Since 99% of men's clothing is manufactured in foreign countries, every imported clothing item is wrapped in clear plastic, in the country of it's manufacture, to avoid moisture getting into the clothes, which would promote the growth of mold, during their long sea-voyage to the U.S.A. The first benefit of buying clothes this way, is that most mail-order catalogs print the words " wrinkle-free " in their catalog description of the items pictured. For people like you and me, that is a warning sign that we should not buy that item. The second benefit, is that when you open the mailing package containing your clothes, you can, without ever having to touch the clothing, wiggle the tags inside the individual clear plastic bags, to see if the words " wrinkle-free " or " no ironing needed " appear on any of the tags. If you see those words, you can put the item back into the mailing package, and return it to the catalog company, for a refund. The " return for refund " form is usually part of the shipping invoice, that you simply rip off and mail back. It couldn't be easier. As a last resort, if you open the individual package, most mail-order companies will still give you a full refund, if you just shove the item back into it's clear plastic bag and return it. I suggest that you try mail-order catalog shopping. Most mail order catalogs are available online, where they tell you, immediately, if the item that you have just ordered, online, is " out-of-stock " , so you can order something else. These deliveries are usually left in front of your door, if you are not at home when the UPS, Fedex, or mail Man/Woman comes.
