Guest guest
Hi, You can use a ceramic mask if the plastic is irritating to you.  Do you have latex free plastic ?? That maybe your irritant. Latex free tubing ?? The hospital in Tx sells the ceramic masks and then you but tygon tubing for it as well from them.   That is where I got mine. I have in the even of a hosptal stay or something. They do not fir the anesthesia supplies is my understanding. God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen ________________________________ From: barb b w <barb1283@...> Sent: Sat, April 17, 2010 2:13:31 PM Subject: [] OT: Oxygen masks  I know some people here have used oxygen treatments for things. I have oxygen on hand for migraine headaches but I find the hard plastic nasal cannula make the skin in area painful after I have had it on for awhile. Do masks work better? With a mask, where does your exhale go to? Thanks
Guest guest
It's not the plastic that bothers me, it's the ends of the plastic tubes that go inside your nose, the edges rub against nasal lining and irritates it, so mask doesn't have those, right? However with mask, where does your exhale go? Wouldn't you breath your exhale back in with oxygen? > > Hi, > > You can use a ceramic mask if the plastic is irritating to you. > > God Bless !! > dragonflymcs > Mayleen > >
Guest guest
dr rea's clinic has both ceramic and metal masks, they have vents for the exhalation, and also a humidifier device so the oxygen has moisture on the way in, plus a cellophane bag on a wooden frame that the oxygen passes thru on it's way in, not sure what that is for, but it is part of the protocol. >Hi, > >You can use a ceramic mask if the plastic is irritating to you. Guest guest
the tube connects into the mask over mouth and nose, you inhale and exhale thru the mask which has vents for the exhale, the exhale doesn't work it's way back into the oxygen tank. >It's not the plastic that bothers me, it's the ends of the plastic tubes >that go inside your nose, the edges rub against nasal lining and >irritates it, so mask doesn't have those, right?
