Guest guest
I don't drink any alcohol at all and my triglicerides are high so there must be other ways besides sugar and alcohol. The sugar could be part of it. But even when sugar was down at 6.4 my triglicerides were still high.  Some of that has to do with low HDL (I think that is the good kind that helps). My LDL or bad cholesterol is fine and total cholesterol is also fine. It is just the triglicerides that are high. They tell me it is from animal fat and genes and lack of exercise. Even when I was eating mostly chicken it was still high. When I was on Craig food, it was high. I figure I have to exercise - that is it. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, April 2, 2012 11:30 PM Subject: 60 Minute segment  I actually had watched it.. ironically when I was diagnosised with the Type IV Hyperlipidemia I had to give up sugar (triglycerides is a by product of sugar and alcohol)... at one point they had me thinking I was a closet drinker and I was in denial....LOL. I even had to think today when was the last time I had a glass of wine.. it was Mar 6 (husband's birthday).. prior to that Aug 7, 2011 (my birthday)... and before that it was quite a bit in 2010 when my mother lived with us.. I had to have about a glass a night to calm down.. and didn't have a problem with elevated triglycerides I don't drink soda (except the occassional ginger ale when I have an upset stomach which I did have Friday, Saturday but had blood work on Thursday)... Debbie in NJ > > > Did any of you watch the segment on 60 minutes last night about the toxicity of sugar and products containing sugar? The doctor and scientist on the show said " Sure causes all diseases and causes cancerous tumors to grow'. Now he didn't talk about sprouting but he did mention that we all should be eating NO PROCESSED FOOD at all!! > > Anybody see this segment? > > Melody >
Guest guest
Exercise is hugely important for health and almost trumps anything else in terms of preventing disease, weight control, longevity, etc. We really don't have much of a choice about doing it - it's virtually mandatory if we want to be healthy. Diet ties into it as well, but exercise is vital. Guest guest
I haven't done much as Ihave knees that are bone and bone and hurt and several back discs that are compressed and have arthritis. When it hurts and get exhausted it is so much easier to not do it. Yet to exercise will eventually help those areas. Taking off the weight puts less stress on them too. Just is hard to do and especially when have to go do it yourself. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Tuesday, April 3, 2012 7:29 AM Subject: RE: 60 Minute segment  Exercise is hugely important for health and almost trumps anything else in terms of preventing disease, weight control, longevity, etc. We really don't have much of a choice about doing it - it's virtually mandatory if we want to be healthy.
