Guest guest
Hi Natasa,Thanks for the explanation.Yes we are on ALA only. Karl has tested low on serotonin which is why we give 5HTP 3 x a day 50mg. Yes, everything clicks on round, he gets things faster and there is less OCD.Your post makes me think that maybe I should be increasing the 5HTP off round then. Thanks again, x To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe > Sent: Monday, December 19, 2011 11:38 AM Subject: Re: LDM 100, Viruses - Vicky Is he on ALA? It will affect SEROTONIN levels, most likely is that kids are getting a boost of serotonin while on a round, then the levels go down whenever you pause ALA. That would explain both better moods and less OCD while on round. DMSA also boost serotonin. If auditory processing ('clicking' faster?) better during rounds that is another indicator, as serotonin heavily involved in brainstem auditory processing. Been noticing rounds are his best times, not without OCD but more manageable.VickyVicky I meant to reply to this earlier. Karl is so much better on round too as long as he's not yeasty. It's a phenomenon I have not been able to explain, it just is. I can even time going out to day two because I know that's when he's on his best behaviour. I've heard of this happening so many times from other mums too. x
