A First International PSSD Teleconference and Proceedings

I think PSSD (Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction) deserves discussion and that we

in this group should find a way to host a conference.

I think a live one-hour teleconference or web chat with proceedings

published on the web would be a fine start. Draft proceedings would be

posted to a server of some kind and participants would edit them until a

consensus was reached, or we could rely on transcription to provde

proceedings. A Yahoo group like this supports web hosting, I think.

Now, when and how can we do this, where will any needed money come from,

what will be on the agenda, and who will do the many tasks that are

necessary for this to happen?

I can do the word processing and may be able to do transcription. I have

telerecording ability but not a conference line. I do have a Cingular phone

with limited call waiting and conferencing but the quality is ratty; it's

suitable for meetings of coordinators prior to the conference. It's free 7-7

EST and weekends. A nonprofit psychiatric rehabilitation provider in my

neighborhood has access to a teleconference provider and I think their

provider charges $100 per hour for up to ten users, maybe more.

I will add I have joined AASECT as a Student member, and that this

affiliation accords me no professional credentials. Those are obtained

through certification and I have not certified with them, nor do I intend to

in the near future.

I do have access to the AASECT listservers, though, and can announce our

conference there, if that's something we want to do. Aasect.org for more on

that. Perhaps one of the Association would join us in our conference.

I suggest we hold working conferences from 7:15-7:30 PM EST every Wednesday

night in January on my Cingular phone to get this going, and see what can be

developed for a spring conference.
