Guest guest
but whatever your selenium levels you still need to catch it and it's still blood/fluid communicated. Do you mean there are other viruses that behave like HIV? All mothers and infants born at Tom's hospital are routinely screened (I think that's also true at most London hospitals?). It's still pretty hard to get HIV isn't it? You don't just pick it up? > > Natasa, > > You and I discussed the connection between AIDS and autism some time ago. > > AIDS is abundant in areas of low selenium...Se necessary for > thyroid...Senegal, for example, apparently does not have AIDS and it has > high selenium. > > Gotta go to bed. > > TMI at the moment. Guest guest
Brilliant Post Natasa My kid has made amazing progress since we addressed antivirals Wouldn't have believed what was going on in his body if we hadn't seen the viral load on tests for ourselves. He showed little outward sign of infection. Guest guest
julie, you won’t believe this but it seems that: retrovirus is capable of binding/blocking the TR3 nuclear receptor. Is one of the ones that T3 binds to, isn't it. - wondering if the receptor is already ‘blocked’ by the viral particle, wouldn’t it be send feedback for more t3 NOT to be produced/converted (usual mechanism in biology) secondly, retrovirus (HIV) has been linked to autoimmune thryoid diseases. fabulous link on all things thyroid, talks about tr3 receptor function further down: http://www.anaesthetist.com/icu/organs/endocr/thyroid/Findex.htm#thyfx.htm Natasa, There definately seems to be some link between HIV and AIDS and thyroid and more specifically freeT3. *Abnormal TSH levels were noted in 12.4% of older men with or at risk for HIV infection, but nearly all reflected subclinical hyperthyroidism or subclinical hypothyroidism.* http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18554308?ordinalpos=7 & itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum *Abnormal thyroid function test results are common among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients* http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17638201?ordinalpos=16 & itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum *This paper presents the hypothesis that if AIDS vaccines are administered together with thyroid hormones, the cellular and humoral immune responses will increase and the patients that receive these together will present much better immunogenicity against AIDS.* http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17570565?ordinalpos=19 & itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum *In AIDS, average short-term weight was stable, caloric intake was normal, and T3 levels were decreased by 19%. Guest guest
*A normal diet contains about 400-500 µg of iodine, of which the gland takes up about 80(+)µg. Once dietary intake of iodide is consistently under 100 µg per day for a period of about three months, hypothyroidism will progressively become apparent. There are vast tracts of land across the planet where iodine deficiency is endemic, so in developing countries hypothyroidism due to iodine deficiency is still a major cause of mental retardation, sometimes worsened by selenium deficiency and goitrogens in foodstuffs such as cassava. Iodine deficiency is said to be a public health problem for about 30% of the world population, and is the /most common preventable cause of mental retardation /. There are, for example, villages in Zaire where /everyone / is hypothyroid! In developed countries, we have iodine supplementation of salt.* They are completely wrong here. Iodine intake in amny developed countries half of this, the UK on average 200 mcg. NOT all developed countries have iodized salt. The UK is notoriously lacking but that omission is NEVER discussed. I wonder why? Neno/Natasa schrieb: > > julie, you won’t believe this but it seems that: > > retrovirus is capable of binding/blocking the TR3 nuclear > receptor. Guest guest
And something else, when the Chernobyl clouds invaded the UK in teh UK, I'll bet a LOT of people were sitting ducks due to lack of iodine. Guest guest
*Today, the best overall test of thyroid function is to simply determine TSH levels. It is generally a waste of resources to request " full thyroid function tests " including TSH, free T4 and free T3 levels.* This is absolutely wrong also. I have studies showing absolutely NORMAL TSH but the freeT3, the IMPORTANT hormone is abnormal. Guest guest
Hi sorry to butt in. But I read similar things with MBP depleat and MS symptoms of autism. Some HIV coctails are used similar to as MS and MBP meds....all immune problems (neuro) as the antibiotic (plus another one forgotton name begins 'R'). Look on MBP yahoo site that is where I read lots of info on it. Children may have immune systems as poor and mimic AIDS but they can be treated and make progress.
