Guest guest
Hi, my daughter is 4 going on 5 also. And i am starting slow on the diet. I only eliminated milk- some bread- cheese- bananas- . I did increase alot of fresh fruits and vegies. Did you do it cold turkey,or are you doing it slowly? The reason i ask is, fresh fruit and vegies have water in it. This may help your situation. Also, her body is flushing out all the toxins. But, if it an extreme change,it would be a good idea to ask the peditrician. Did you notice any other changes? __________________________________________________

When you shop in a regular store like: Kroger. Look for Kosher hot dogs. They have no preservatives or additives which contain hidden glutens. If you can get your hands on the book Special Diets for Special Kids by , that will help you understand the diet and gives you all kinds of recipes to use. The difference between regular stores and natural food stores can be written off on your taxes. You need a written notice from your doctor indicating that your child needs a special diet. Save your receipts from both stores and ask an accountant(H & R Block or someone like it), how to write it off. If you need more names of cook books I have them and I'll pass them along if you like. Let me know. Talk soon Charlotte > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
My daughter has been on the diet for about 1 1/2 years and we haven't noticed any increase in her thirst. So I'm sorry but I can't help you... " Charlotte " <gollumsring@ To: Autism_in_Girls yahoo.com> cc: Fax to: 02/24/2001 Subject: Diet 07:04 AM Please respond to Autism_in_Gir ls To all those it may concern, I need to know who is doing the GF/CF diet with their child? I need to find someone to compare notes with and to ask questions. My daughter is 4 going on 5. We started the GF diet in August and recently started the CF diet, two weeks ago. I began using a vitamin and mineral supplement to aid in controling her yeast problem and to help with her digestion. Also two weeks ago. It is working. My question is this- Why is she so thirsty? I sent a letter to our doctor and I am waiting to hear from her. She is a great doc., but she is new to the " diet " . Does anyone have a clue what is causing her thirst? Is it part of a new " die off " from starting the CF diet? Please give me some insight to this. Charlotte (Rowan 4)

Guest guest
> I need to know who is doing the GF/CF diet with their child? Charlotte, we have been doing the GF/CF diet since 1995. We started Pamela when she was 6.5 and she has made tremendous progress thanks to the diet. I went back and, based upon her school and home school evaluations, calculated ATEC scores and graphed them for Pamela's page of our website. You can see the dramatic drop in her scores the first two years on the diet: http://home.earthlink.net/~tammyglaser798/pamela.html > I began using a vitamin and mineral supplement to aid in controling her yeast problem and to help with her digestion. Also two weeks ago. It is working. We did anti-yeast too and her chronic bleeding eczema has been in remission ever since! Her doctor told us it was incurable <G>. > My question is this- Why is she so thirsty? It could be yeast die-off! As those critters die off, toxins are released into the body and that could be creating thirst. -- Tammy G. " A parent's love perceives no limitations. Guest guest
>The best way that I can think of for you to get around them is to get a doctor's note saying he needs to be on the diet< Thankyou. The reason I reacted so much to this newest round about the diet is BECAUSE they have letters from two different specialists that Tristan is to be on the diet at home and at school. Dr. 's office is going to send a letter addressing this so MAYBE they will be satisfied? In their defense, it may be because Tristan is still so thin, and they may believe it is because of the diet, though they know the large amount of food I send, and he does eat most of it. His Mom has always been thin (petite) she wears size 2 or 4. So genetics probably plays into as well as the malabsorption issues, and like I said before he doesn't like baked goods which is probably where we get a lot of our calories.
