Guest guest
I think it's tough to sort out causes of pain . . . last week, I was hurting all over (fibromyalgia). . I got a deep massage Wednesday, and got rid of most of it. Now it's down to my shoulder where I've got some bursitis going on . . . they put a pneumonia vaccination into the bursa sac last December. I had therapy with ultrasound, and it cleared up very well . .. .then it was jerked a number of times while square dancing, and I'm back to square one with it. So I'm off to see the doctor Monday. Hopefully I can get some more ultrasound treatments. Guest guest
I had a lot of problems with what I believe to be migrating silicone in my legs and feet after 12 therapeutic massages for my neck. I got sicker and my rheumy said that treatments like massage can break up silicone that may be lodge in an area, like the neck and begin moving it through the bloodstream. This seems like it could have been what was happening to me. Have you noticed differences after massage? Guest guest
Therefore, I keep my excellent supplements a secret from all of you, while I continue to get closer to total wellness! > I do the same thing with cosmetics & skin treatment plans, so I will look > young, while you who are my adult childrens' ages look old! Gee, thanks, Martha. That's a nice thought. Thanks for showing how much you care. Patty
Guest guest
I'm concerned about massage spreading silicone that has lodged one place to another. I would never allow a massage therapist to massage lumps that may be silicone. I've also cautioned my massage therapists against massaging what they feel to be deposits of silicone. One therapist thought she was helping a woman disperse those lumps! IMHO, if they are a size that can be felt, a surgeon should remove them. That said, I find that I feel best when I get a massage every two weeks when I'm not physically active. The massage therapists always caution me to drink lots of water following a massage because toxins are released. In my case, the capsule contained the spilled silicone, so, while small amounts of silicone escaped for years, I did not have big globs floating about. There is a test you can do . . . it's not " scientific " , but, it works. Put a tablespoon of spit on a white piece of paper and let it dry completely. Examine it closely under a bright light. Traces of silicone will show up as sparkles . . . the more sparkles, more silicone. The woman, who collected samples for study, said that those who were exceptionally ill had samples that looked frothy. The scientist who was going to do the study, stopped when the IOM report was released. One woman talked to a medical specialist about the spit observation. He told her that people with occupational exposure to silicon had the same type of spit. Guest guest
I agree with you Patty. My boyfriend and I both did it and we both had the exact same amount of sparkles. -Shirl-
Guest guest
I found this spit test interesting, but was not too sure about its reliability. I tried it on myself, and then also on my son, who was probably 13 or 14 at the time. We did the whole bit spitting on paper and letting it dry, and what we found was that both of us had the same kind of sparkles. (he was breast fed, but before I got implants.) I guess that made me skeptical. Guest guest
There is silicone in many products . . . there should be a remarkable difference between someone who has breast implants, or significant silica exposure, and someone who hasn't. Is it possible your son has some environmental exposure? . . . for instance, some craft projects involve silica . . . pottery, ceramics, stained glass .. . . I hadn't heard of the test when I was very sick, but now, I find only a few crystals. Hopefully that means that I've cleared most the silicone out of my body. Guest guest
Hi, I'm not trying to contradict anyone, but my husband and I also tried the spit test on two seperate 3x5 cards (back side of cards, plain without the lines) and the next morning after they had both dried. Where my husband had spit, you couldn't even tell, it had blended in with the card, but on my card, the spit had dried as a frothy (brown in color) with all these little crystals in it. And just to be sure that wasn't some kind of a fluke, we tried it again this week with the same results. My husband is also very sick with heart and lung disease, but those were the results. Hugs........... Patty <fdp@...> wrote: I found this spit test interesting, but was not too sure about itsreliability.
