I am in Private Practice in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area of Virginia (Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach), serving the military population. I am also a long-time LLL Leader. I too am looking forward to all the books that are coming out this summer---the new WAB sounds fantastic and we need an updated BAB. I want to pass on the new book that Hale just put out: Balancing Breast and Bottle: Reaching Your Breastfeeding Goals as an excellent book for LCs and mothers alike. The authors really did their homework on this one! Part of the reason I lurk a lot is that I am writing a book! It is due out this summer by Hale as well--- Breastfeeding in Combat Boots: A Survival Guide to Breastfeeding Successfully While Serving in the Military. It is written for the mother, but will have tips that professionals can use too. I am a USN veteran who breastfed on active duty and now am a spouse of an active duty sailor and I work primarily with military mothers and families. I am hopeful that this book will fill a niche that has been neglected. I am speaking at the ILCA conference on the subject as well. If any of you work with military moms, please let them know about the website and book! And I can still take submissions to be included in the book until February (stories and photos of breastfeeding on active duty).
