Your body is telling you know more 21DCs! If nothing else go to 6 days a week. I usually do taebo (or an alternative form or exercise, like a long hike), 6 days a week. This week, because my husband wanted me around to hand out candy for Halloween, I am doing just 5 days a week and it feels SO LIBERATING! It's nice to be kind to yourself once in a while. Your body and mind appreciate it. Elena

Jen, you answered your own question here when I found myself not anticipating doing Tae-Bo enthusiastically, I started mixing in more other stuff which has made me enjoy and anticipate Tae-Bo that much more. Personally, I think 3-4 times a week of Tae-bo, 2-3 days of weight resistance alone or mixed with another cardio for intervals on the non=Tae-Bo days and a day off each week is a perfect plan for me. LOL my toughest day is the OFF day Barb who did do TB nonstop daily for months before realizing I needed to have more balance

Guest guest
Jen, I think that's a GREAT idea. I like the 21DC for when you're just starting Tae Bo. I think it's good to get you in the groove and ready to commit to a lifetime of doing Tae Bo (and any other exercise). But, I think once you get into it, you should not do it for that long. Personally, I was doing Tae Bo alll the time, everyday, no matter how tired I was (or how much homework I had to do! haha). But now, I do 3 days then a day of rest and then 3 more days. Your muscles need to repair themselves, so a day or two of rest if necessary, or else exercise is worthless in the long run. I think the 5x8 challenge sounds good! Go for it, girl! Christiana who just finished her newly arrived AL4 and thinks she's rather smelly right now:) to 21DC or not? Hello Tae Bo family-I just wanted to ask you all a question and I need all the advice I can get. Back when I started Tae Bo, I made myself the promise that I would start one new 21DC each month for 6 months and then after the 21DC for the month was over, I would spend the rest of the month "mixing up" my exercise routine by including some step and walking as well as Tae Bo.Okay, here's my situation. I just finished my 3rd 21DC on Oct. 21. And, I'm looking at starting my new 21DC this weeks (actually I started yesterday). Problem is I think that doing Tae bo for 21 days straight is burning me out. I've had a hard time getting motivated to Tae Bo the past 2 days - of course its been a tough few days for me personally which might be contributing to the problem. But, with all the talk here recently about the importance of a day of rest now and then, I was thinking it may be smarter for me to modify (my vocabulary tribute to Barb LOL!) my goals and try to do Tae Bo 5x a week. Some people on the big board have begun a 5x8 challenge (do Tae Bo 5 times a week for 8 weeks). I'm wondering if this might not be a better option for me. Jen, One of the things that always stresses is self-awareness and that means that you have to learn to listen to your body and work with it, not against is, to reach your goals! It also means setting realistic goals so that you don't set yourself up for failure....which includes re-evaluating your goals if you realize they are not realistic! Congratulations on becoming self-aware Obviously, your body is getting tired.....21DC's are TOUGH on your body. For one thing....your body needs rest. I think a 21DC is good for someone who is having a hard time making Tae-Bo a habit in their life, or for someone who has lost motivation and is trying to get back on track! That is the purpose of a 21DC....to make something a habit in your life! I think it's safe to say that Tae-Bo is a permanent part of your life already, so I think the 5 times a week challenge would be much better for you Please don't think of it as failing because your original challenge was to do a 21DC every month for 6 months! Instead, look at it as re-evaluating your goals and realizing that you need to make your goal something doable and realistic for your lifestyle! Doing Tae-Bo 5 times a week is not only healthy for your body....it is something you can live with and something you can realistically hope to continue That really is a big step in becoming your own teacher...realizing that you can listen to your body and make choices that will help you reach your goals

But once I finish the 30 days I will only go up to 5 times a week taebo because I don't want to get burned out. I think you should slow down. Just listen to your body. There might be days when you will want to do taebo twice a day and then there will be days that you might need to take 2 or 3 days rest.
