,

I read your post about wanting more school time for , and

thought I'd share that we live in Illinois, and Luke attends the

Early Childhood Education classroom at our public school 5 days a

week for 2 1/2 hours each day. The class is for children ages 3-6.

There are a few students who attend kindergarten 1/2 day and go to

ECE 1/2 day. During the week, he receives OT, PT, Speech and hearing

impaired services (he's not hearing impaired, but the teacher works

with him on signing). There are just 8 students in the class, with a

maximum capacity of 10. There are 5 adults: the head teacher,

classroom assistant, and 3 aides. My husband and I visited his

classroom just yesterday and it is so wonderful. He has a one-on-one

aide, and the level of instruction and attention he receives is

incredible. We couldn't be happier. He has made amazing progress

since he started in the fall and he really seems to love school. I

am so thankful we have this available to us.

If I can answer any questions for you or get you information you can

use to bolster your case, let me know. Good luck!

Hi ,

We live in New Jersey. It sounds like my daughter's program is similar

to 's. There are 9 students in the class and they will only

allow a maximum of 10. The class consists of a teacher and 3 aides. My

daughter gets PT, OT, and speech at school. I'm surprised that your

district only has your child in school for 2 days a week. We had the

option to send her to other schools for a full day but felt that it

would be too much for her.
