The crucial thing in recovering from erectile/libido disorders, according to eastern medicine, is a long period of sexual abstinence (not ejaculating).

The tibetan doctor, I've been to, told me that the more I restran my self from ejaculation, the faster positive improvement may appear.

Do You agree with that?

Well in principle I like Thibettan Buddhism. And not

to impressed with that commercial bit amateuristic

website you just showed.

I am a bit concerned about the abstinence theory. It

seems to popular and simple. A bit like from walnuts

your brain works better, and musscles make you sexy,

the so called signature theory. Practised by people

who have nothing else (better) to go by (such as

experience), and therefore just looks at appearance

(the similarity betweebn the structure of a wallnut, I

think is co-incidental and not designed by God to be

as such, or eveolved like that because they happen to

have a certain effect on human brains)

However, I could imagine that some blood and brain

values MIGHT build up, in case of abstinence, and

MIGHT- in theory - get things going to levels at a

thershold of where they work again, with positive

effects on the system.

So, I could have erection, but no ejaculation, or none what so ever. I believe the only difference, if when you ejaculate the prostate gland is doing some of the work. Sorry, but this seems non sense to me.

Dear " Decadenz " and Steve and all: OK, I KNOW what Decadenzs'

doc is talking about and so do some of you. But for all to know just

where the " logic " of this Eastern medical doctor is coming from,

I'll be the one to explain (as best I can).

In a lot of Eastern societies, there is a practice that is common

amongst believers in Eastern ways on not ONLY how to 'cure' any and

all sexual dysfunctions, but many practice this sexual way all of

the time. The name of this is called " TANTRIC SEX " . Some of you may

have heard about the ex-lead singer of the rock group " The Police " ,

Sting, has 'tantric sex'. It is a VERY REAL subject and not just

some fairy tale from the East.

With Tantric Sex, sex is used as part of your inner energy

called " Chi " . The type of 'Chi' that this is escapes me now but

there IS a website that TOTALLY EXPLAINS in almost EVERY WAY how

this works. A word of warning before anyone checks it out: If you

are not a very open minded person to other types of beliefs and

religeons, or are a bit on the 'prudish' side when it comes to sex,

don't go there. Here is the URL, just type it in your address box

and click " go " :

http://www.sivasakti.com/articles/tantra/art09.html

I've actually practiced some of the " techniques " myself. I could

only do the exercises and the masturbastion ones because I'm married

to a born and bred staunch Catholic girl who thinks this is going

just a little into the Twilight Zone for her. Fine. There is PLENTY

you can do to help yourself sexually so that when the time comes to

make love with your partner, you'll be a much better " lover " to them.

Now, my personal take since Steve thinks this is nonesense:

Steve? You DO have all the signs and symptoms of having an

ejaculation, however, you " withhold " your semen from ejecting. I

know, I know. The first thing you all are thinking is, " My Gosh!

What does that do to your internal organs??? " and/or " How could

doing THAT/THIS possibly be helpful? "

Like I said, if you read what the website on Trantric Sex has to

say, they claim that by withholding your semen, you are withholding

your " energy " of sorts. The site tells of different sexual

excersizes called " SEXERCIZES " . The site will even appeal to those

who may not want to withhold ejaculation, but would like to learn

how to strengthen themselves sexually only.

Yes, some closed minded folks may get a good laugh out of the site

or, if you actually give the 'sexersizes' a try, may find themselves

laughing at the ones with the closed minds (I'm the latter)!

They also tell (and show as non-pornographic as possible) different

mastubatory techniques for both men AND women (you'll see TWO

different " links " for sexersizes. On for women and one for men.

Of course this site represents not ONLY the sexual energy we have,

but explains as simply as possible what some of the Eastern

societies have known and practiced for centuries. So you'll discover

that it is just like peoples beliefs in accupunture, it is a Hindu-

istic type of looking at the world in general with an emphasis on

all things SEXUAL.

I've only been doing the beginners 'sexersizes', sans the mantra,

for two weeks now and already am feeling even MORE sexual healing

than just lowering the dosage of my anti-d!!!

And here I thought it couldn't get any better! HA! Just give the

site a lookover and if you like what you read, give it a try. You'll

be surprised!

Just one side comment: " THEY " say it doesn't do any harm to withhold

your ejaculate. Me, however, tend to disagree. Keeping the body from

doing what it WANTS to do just doesn't seem like a good idea to me,

but KUDOS to those that do it and show no signs of harm. At this

point in my " sexual-reawakening " , I just don't think it's a great

idea.

Thanks for your link. I give that a try. Just wanted to add another point of view. Maybe there is no energy or secret in semen, and maybe all is to it, is to focus our mind on a whole body experience and not just the penis. Which I don't think it is hard to do. These days, it is very hard to me to use my imagination to get arouse and becomes frustrating. I will definitely give some of the exercises a try. I believe there are many nonsense in the reasoning behind some of the eastern medicine, however, if you look at what it actually does to the body scientifically, and not listen to the energy in the semen and ying and yang, you see the benefits. I have not seen the site yet, (I will definitely look into it). From what you are describing, this is something close to sensate focus. I think the whole idea is to focus on the body and not just penis.

Yes, it sounds good, as I said before. Thanks for the

link Wayne. The mind thing is one thing. In addition I

want to say, that, whether we ejaculate or not, of

course may have a huge impact looking at it from a

functional point of view: Evolution of course really

wants to make sure we do optimise reproduction, so,

e.g., you'd expect a difference in brain chemistry

even between mating and masturbation. And we

definately find that. How it works is another matter.

Hi Wayne,

It looks like some of the pelvic muscle exercises at this site work

similar to the Kegel exercise methods. Both sexes can isolate these

pelvic muscles by stopping and starting the flow of urine. Once you

understand how to tighten these muscles you can perform this exercise

practically anywhere at any time. The only problem I see in doing

these exercises is establishing a regular routine and sticking to it,

sound familiar.

But Kegel exercises may cause premature ejaculation - I heard such opinions

That is the first time I've heard pelvic muscle strengthing causes

premature ejaculation. I'll keep my eye open for material of this

kind supporting this.

I wonder why that would be. Jaql exercises incorporate pc muscle

strengthing techniques.

This is an ancient toaist practice.. But there is some evidence that

it is healthier to ejaculate frequently. For one, it reduces

chances of prostate problems, including cancer:

Hey All!-The ONLY reason I put that link about the " Toaist/Eastern

medicine " link in here is just for those who haven't OR who have yet

to completely understand about their own sexual capacities. I know

there are guys out there that would think looking at themselves in a

mirror masturbating borders on honosexuality. But it ISN'T. It's for

them to understand their OWN body first and how to make yourself

discover how to bring yourself to sexual pleasure, find errogenous

zones, etc,,, so that when the time comes to share the experience

with a partner, you'll better understand how YOU work. That way YOU

can have more control over your sexual experiences once they slowly

but surely come back after years of your sexual feelings being

artificially numbed by SSRI's. I PERSONALLY would NEVER hold or

force myself NOT to ejaculate. In fact, years and years ago, I was

tought that you could do serious harm to your internal

sexual " workings " or " parts " . So I don't recommend that part at ALL.

The idea is to realize your full potential sexually and once you

know that, things that the SSRI's have done to us MAY stand a much

smaller chance of being permenant. Or even take so long to overcome

(no pun intended).

Thanks for pointing that out Vornan. The LAST thing I want to see is

a post saying that Tantric link caused physical damage to someone

who was only trying to reawaken their sexual feelings. Speaking of...

I think it's been almost 2 months since I've started the TRT and cut

WAY back on my anti-d, Celexa. I made love to my wife last night and

was STIll unable to achieve an orgasm. I know I was told that it

will happen with time, and that is what I'm giving myself as I know

I can at least HAVE them. Does anyone think this is at all unusual

at this point? I think I read a post in here that said even though

all other aspects of the sexual experience had returned, it took

about six months to " share " an orgasm through intercourse.

Just curious if I'm OK or should seek out a sexpert for counseling.

I love my wife dearly and have for 28 years and see no end in sight.

I have no desire to satisfy any other female and only have the

same " fantasies " as any 'normal' man. I don't want to do anything

that would cost us any more $$$ OR make my wife think I don't love

her, because, I'd give my LIFE for her.

Aloha Wayne
