Guest guest
He is cutting underneath the breast. I had an incision around the nipple with the implant and lift so he said that it would probably be better to do from under the breast to hide the scar. ----- Original Message ----- From: <cjheer@...> < > Sent: Friday, November 09, 2001 2:32 PM Subject: Re: confused!!! > First of all I would contact Dr blais and find out how he wants them > sent to him, second I would talk to your explanting surgeon > beforehand to make sure he knows that you want your implants to be > packaged properly after explant so that they can be sent to Dr Blais > for ananlysis, I would be sure that he understands you want pictures > of the implants with the capsules on them before they are sent > anywhere, if he is offended by this I wouldn't trust him to do the > job right. Guest guest
I had incisions underneath the breast but they didn't do it in the crease because the doctor said if you wear a bathing suit and it pulls up the scar would show. So he did it slightly above the crease. I always notice it and feel self conscious, particularly when I see women who had the incision around the nipple or under the arm and it looks so natural. I'm sorry I didn't ask about it. The scar is definitely less noticeable in time but never goes away. Guest guest
Can Dr. Blais analyze my implant that I have had for over 3 years and kept in the refrigerator? (nice when you have company) What is the procedure and the cost? Guest guest
If you have enough breast left to hang down a bit, and if you are not the type to get those heavy ketoid? scars, they should look fine. I can't imagine how a surgeon could remove them completely otherwise. I saw a slide show of a surgeon who removed them through the nipple . . . didn't look like the way to go to me! Guest guest
If your implants have been refrigerated or frozen or kept in any preservative such as formalin, then any and all tests for bacteria, fungi, and mold will not be able to be done. Also if anyone has actually handled them with their bare hands, this could show up in tests as a contaminant, i.e, they might show growth that really isn't there but was on your hands/fingers. In other words, it could yield a false positive. The cost Pierre charges ranges anywhere from $250-350, give or take a few bucks. Like said, it depends on how much Pierre needs to do to complete his report and findings. He charged me $270, plus I paid an add'l $20 for UPS shipping. e > he can analyze them but I am not sure if they would show anything if > they have been in the fridge or handled, unfortunatly they are not > supposed to be kept cold, it kills things I think. > > Check out some of the posts further back I think his info is there I > think it is around 200 or 300 bucks and it depends on how much you > want done. > > > > > > > In @y..., " Beverley Smalley " <kokomo@b...> wrote: > > Can Dr. Blais analyze my implant that I have had for over 3 years > and kept > > in the refrigerator? Guest guest
My scars are under my breast, in the fold/crease. I actually had a breast reduction done in 1989 for DD breasts, and the scars faded real well. Then when I had my explant, Dr. Huang went through the same scars, and they have again healed real well. You can barely see them. e > Hmm I don't have crease scars so i do not know how they look, anyone > here have crease incisions? Guest guest
I only have one the other has " disappeared " but the one I have is clean and looks as if it was cleaned. It's in a plastic container that the doctor gave me and hasn't been handled by me or since then. I kept it in my closet for a while but then moved it to the refrig. Should I take it out? Guest guest
Beverley, Since your implant has been in your frig, the tests that would normally be run on them will not be able to be done. So taking it out of the frig won't make a difference. However, Pierre may be able to run tests to determine if the implant was improperly manufactured or defective in any way. But you will not be able to find out if there was any bacterial or fungal growth inside or out. As far as whether the implant was cleaned off, it's hard to say. Ideally, they should be left as is, not cleaned off or touched at all even with sterile pads. There is a possibility that NSS (normal sterile saline) was poured over them to " clean " them off. I'm not sure how that would affect the analysis. But I think it would be worth it to give Pierre a call and see what he has to say and what he recommends. e
