Guest guest
I am loving the discussion of inclusion -- what it can mean and how to get it done, even against the initial protest of the school district. It is especially timely for me, as I address this with . Her school seems willing and accommodating, but there are things that bother me. . like their statement that her pull-out to resource for math "may or may not be at the same time the class as a whole is doing math". WHAT???? If it's a different time, what good is that and what will she be doing in the classroom while they are doing math, and what will she miss while she IS in resource doing math? I haven't fought that fight yet, because the schedules aren't set, but I'm preparing to. They way "we try to work it that way, but it doesn't always work". Well, in my book it HAS to work that way or it is pointless and she needs an aide in the classroom instead (during those times). Those of you who have BTDT, or know that statutes, any suggestions of how to approach that when the conversation comes up a week before school starts?
