Guest guest
The courts got rid of the lock on the Zyprexa Kills campaign documents and I got a chance to read them finally. In summary, this is what happened: 1) Zyprexa was found to cause diabetes and even kill patients who have bipolar and schizophrenic symptoms. 2) Lilly's staff was accused of being " damn liars covering up side effects " in e-mails from some (surprisingly) ethical doctors, but " manipulated slides " for presentations to the FDA and other parties. 3) Instead of recalling the product or issuing warnings, they instead launched a marketing campaign called VIVA ZYPREXA where they encouraged their drug sale reps to manipulate doctors, downplay side effects and promote it for off-label uses. 4) Eli Lilly purchased the web domain www.zyprexakills.com in 2002, but the documents didn't get leaked until December 2006 and despite getting sued for $1.2 billion, the stock jumped from the 50s into the 60s and Zyprexa is the 3rd top selling pill in the world. Oddly enough, sexual dysfunction isn't listed as a side effect of Zyprexa, but when I took it, my sexual dysfunction was even worse than when taking an SSRI. I wonder if there were similar campaigns for Prozac and other SSRIs covering up the permanent sexual side effects and whatever other horrors these drugs cause?
