I think it's worth trying, but proceed with caution. According to the

(somewhat unscisntifc) poll, wellbutrin is the best thing for reversing

PSSD - it's even better than viagra (21 vs. 18 votes). The problem is

that while it seems to work very well for some people, it does nothing

for others, or can even worsen the situation. And there's no way to

predict which way it will go. if you are particlarly sensitive to

serotenergic effects, adderall or ritalin may be a better option.

When I take Viagra I can get erections easily, but the sensation is

not close to 100%. My major problem is lack of sensitivity, is it

possible that wellbutrin will help with this?

Yes, wellbutrin can help with sensitivity. But like I said: be

careful, because you can't predict whether it will help you or not.

Give it a try, but if you feel like things are getting worse, then

quit it.

I took it for about three months, it did nothing for my PSSD. On the other hand, it didn't hurt either (in terms of sexuality), and I've heard it can help. I'd follow V's advice and try with caution, and if it doesn't work after a fair amount of time to safely discontinue. While the Wellbutrin didn't effect my sexuality one way or another, I eventually quit it a little over a month ago because it did continue making me feel emotionally deaded (like a zombie). Since quitting I've actually felt more alive, though my symptoms from my original problems that caused me to resort to medication have also returned.carlothms wrote: My doctor believes that if I take Wellbutrin SR it will perhaps readjust my brain to how it was previously. I'm not totally sure why my doctor recommended going on wellbutrin,

but from what I read on the internet it seems it is most likely it

can't make me worse. I'll keep you guys posted on my wellbutrin

intake. I hope this will increase my sensitivity.

Actually, although extremely rare, despite the fact that it has the lowest risk of sexual dusfunction among AD (from what I've heard), it can cause sexual dysfunction in some people. But I don't think that means you shouldn't try it, just be careful and if it doesn't work or makes things worse after a month or so discontinue. Also, I'd get the non-controlled releqase stuff, that way you can taper yourself off instead of quitting cold turkey (because quitting it that way blows)carlothms wrote: I'm not totally sure why my doctor recommended going on wellbutrin, but from what I read on the internet it seems it is most likely it can't make me worse. If you type in wellbutrin and sex you will get a lot of positive

things about this med. Even the wikipedia article make this ad sound

great. I will monitor myself nonetheless.

I quit Welbutrin cold turkey and suffered flu or virus-like symptoms for

several days, and this was after a period of about 8-9 months on the

stuff(300mg, time-release). For what it's worth, I saw no change in

sexual function excepting the day after I quit it: I noticed a dramatic

change for a day or so to the positive, but it of course didn't last.

I've been on wellbutrin sr 150 mg tab for four days now and I've

noticed more sensitivity and my arousal is alot better. Before I would

get an erections easily and not feel it, and eventually orgasm (feel

that). Now I stimulate my self and actually feel myself get aroused

and lead to orgasm. I'm not at 100%, but definately an improvement.

It's not placebo effect, I'm sure of it. After a week at 150 mg i'm

going to 300mg. Then I'm going to see my doctor. I would recommend

wellbutrin for those who haven't tried it. I hope my progress

continues, good luck guys I hope we will all pull through. There are

other benefits as well, it supresses hunger (lose weight), however it

did give me a small rash the first day I took it, other than that I

can't complain.

To carlothms, BECAREFUL about raising the dosage of welbutrin to

300mg. I have had periods where I tolerated 150mg ok, but when I went

up to 250mg it was a complete disaster. You have to be very careful

with WB, it is a potent stimulant and if you are prone to anxiety you

must be extra careful, WB can cause severe agitation in some people who

have pre-existing issues with anxiety. It is great that you are

seeing benifits from WB, and hopefully this will continue. When its

time to quit WB or to lower the dose, I suggest going slower then the

doctors will reccommend and to take extra good care of yourself during

those periods of either increase or decrease. It is also good to tell

a freind or family member what you are doing, psychiatrists aren't

really there to listen closely most of the time and you can't rely on

just yourself if you are having any troubles, social support can be a

big help.

I have a question for anyone with experience using WB; Does anybody

find welbutrin to increase emotional responsiveness?

Thanks devin I will keep that in mind because I did suffer from

anxiety however it seems effexor took care of that. Can anyone gues

why anxiety goes up? Can it be lower levels of serotonin, maybe

thats why people have high libido with this drug or it is less

likely to cause sexual problems?

I neither got better or worse: I saw no difference at all on it.
