Hi, this is Deanna...mom to 5.....Alyssa, , Jarod, , and ~i~ Jordan. We just passed the 3 year date of Jordan's passing on the 2nd.....always hate this month. has been battling chronic sinus infections and has finished up 6 rounds of antibiotics this winter. We are hoping he does not need to have surgery to correct this....one more surgery is too much for this little guy. Everyone else is kinda status quo. Hope everyone is doing well....especially little who has forever been on my mind.

Things are crazy here. Zack took the eaves spout off the house (again) and the basement flooded (again). The same day, my brother called to tell me that my dad passed away. He is with my mom, and my now. So, we have been busy with cleaning the basement, visitations, funerals and clearing out my dad's house. I picked a bad month to start selling my daughter's clothes on Ebay.

Hope everyone else's year started out on a better note.

Sue -- mom to Zack, 13, DS, 2 ASD's, an VSD and a bad mitral valve; Matt, 12. 's Anomaly, Cataracts, Glaucoma, PDD, PFO, hearing loss; , forever four, DS, TOF, gtube, 04/20/96-12/31/00; Sami, 3, sensory issues, autistic tendencies, but so far doing great in regular preschool!

Hi Sue-

Our twins were born with TOF and had

repairs at 3 months for Brice and 6 months with Brenan. Did have any

surgeries?

OH, my gosh! You have so much on

your plate right now. I will be praying for you!

Deanna,

I can't imagine your strength every year at this time, what a wonderful example you are to so many by keeping his memory alive. I hope recovers without needing any further RX or surgery.

Dana, Interesting that your boys had tetrology of Fallot it is not very common in kids with DS. My son is also a TOF boy he had shunt surgery at 6 months and open heart at 20 months. He will require further surgery when he is older but he is now almost 14........Merry

Checking in from Illinois--

This is --mom to Luke (DS) and Jake, who will turn 4 in

April. The boys are both in 1/2 day preschool, Jake in a " regular "

class and Luke in a self-contained class, with students with a wide

range of delays. To weigh in on that issue, I had big concerns

initially placing Luke in a self-contained classroom, but now I'm

very glad he's in this particular class. First of all, a class like

Jake's, even with an aide, would have been too much for Luke. He has

his own aide, his teacher is wonderful, and he receives the therapies

he needs (PT, OT, Speech & Hearing Impaired (which he's not, but

works with that teacher on signing)). We have seen such great

strides lately, and finally Luke is showing us what we knew he was

capable of. He gets so much one-on-one in his class, and at this

point in time is really what he needs. Everyone's situation is

different, and since this was our first school experience, I really

didn't know what to expect. But for Luke this is the best fit at

this time, and I fully expect when we get to kindergarten that he

will be in an inclusive class with an aide. I'm so glad to hear

about everyone's experiences, so I know what possibilities are out

there for our children. Thanks!
