Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone was interested in starting a group like this one for college kids. I know that Chris' son will be going off to college next year and my daughter is returning after a leave. I know from last year, that it can be very isolating, handling and hiding the ocd at times, and it may help if they had a group where they could escape-- to vent or listen--where others understand. I like the idea of setting this up with " our " kids--people we kinda of " know " . And most of you are very ocd knowledgeable. No pressure of course, whoever thought they might be interested. Maybe one of the more tech savvy members could get it started. Thanks! Terry
Guest guest
Terry. I think this is a great idea. My son stayed home and went to a local college his first two years. Last September he went away to college. He had his own apartment across from the college. With his OCD, he could never live with anyone and living in a dorm would have been a nightmare. We really thought it would be better for him to be able to deal with his OCD in private rather than be ridiculed. In short, he was so extremely lonely, isolated, exhausted from his OCD rituals and was " stuck " in his apartment, He was so unhappy and his ocd was becoming severe. Nothing was worth having the OCD rear its ugly head. He drop out and he feels like a failure. I think he would really appreciate being a part of a college support group online. Thank you !!
