Guest guest
Yes. for some kids the immune system is too weak to do chelation. The children are constantly sick. Gut issues, inflammation, allergies, viruses etc.. When one thing improves, another thing happens. Start chelation and remove the mercury but get a yeast overgrowth or make it worse. Then the behavior gets worse too and the parent is dealing with schools and therapists to fix it. My twins recovered almost entirely biomedically. I did therapy myself because what I was doing was free and it was helping them. I was just working by instinct. Anyway, after going to a conference with all the therapists explaining what they do and why I just came up with this idea that even though each therapist, or doctor knows their own part of the puzzle. The trick for parents to even start biomed is to explain to the therapists that using food as a reward can cause problems down the road. Everyone keeps telling me that their therapist doesn't use food as a reward and in my opinion because the parent broke the cycle, their child is improving. Also their child may not have had the viruses and inflammation that others do that take years to heal. The point is for the parents who just go along with the experts and don't question them they may not see all the conflicting advice and therefore they give up before they really ever started. I see that happen a lot where there are parents who say they wanted to start the diet, except their nutritionist insisted that the only way to get the fat was from milk so they won't do the diet at all. I didn't want to to go into all the other medical reasons that the diet doesn't work. It makes it too complicated. Lynne, I concur - we've been doing bio med and GFCF for years - ABA 30 hours a week for 6 years, chelation (no HBOT though) - and my ds is no where near recovered - hell, I'd settle for a few words! Its draining emotionally and financially chasing everyhing and being the expert on everything too. In my spare time I work full-time ( & pt), take care of NT kiddo and try to be a good wife and housecleaner (okay failing one the last two!)
