Today, I started reading The End of Food: How the Food Industry is Destroying Our Food Supply - and What You Can Do About It by F. Pawlick. I never really thought much about this, but it may well be that many of the fresh fruit and veggies in our stores are no longer as nutritious as they used to be, several decades ago. It's not only the pesticides and fertilizers that we need to be concerned about, but it seems that our fresh produce is being limited to varieties that bring in the biggest profits to the industry but are of little value to the consumer (i.e., nutritional value and taste are not important to the industry, when choosing which varieties of fruits and vegetables to market to the consumer). Hmmm, more to chew on and investigate,...
