Guest guest
I know what you mean Laurie -- about the trick or treating. Mikey usually makes it to about to about 2 -3 houses also. He just doesn't get it. It makes me sad too. A lot of this kind of stuff makes me sad -- but he's OK with it all -- I guess it's just a sobering dose of reality for ME. But I still need to send him to school with a costume -- so we do that and then I usually go to a friends house to pass out candy. We live on a country road and don't get any trick or treat-ers. He was cookie monster for the last two years and I think I have to change it up a bit this year. Maybe Elmo?? Patty
Guest guest
Patty we shut off all the lights and close the drapes on Holloween if we get trick or treaters and we do Mic just shreaks and slams the door in their faces.Im looking for a party this year and see what happens. We havent given up after 5 years of this.Im sure in the city at the Center for Disabled theres somewhere we can try.I think he would enjoy other kids dressed up and running around just not him dressed up. Its something about the opening and closing doors that seems to get at him with the trick or treating. Laurie
Guest guest
Black or brown sweat suit with hoody. Pair of white socks sewn on hood for ears. White or black or brown tail sewn on seat of pants. Face make up for rabbit or dog . Finito. Work time for costume - 10 minutes tops. Reuse sweat suit after holiday by removing scokc and put in sock drawer. Cost?? Maybe $10 if you buy nice inexpensive sweats at K-mart or similar. At school they send little bags of candy home and she just " stores " it in her room and I cannot remove it, at least not all at one time. I have to go in and remove a few pieces at a time until it is empty. Last year the school did a halloween parade and the day of the parade Trisha woke up sick with a fever, it's like her body knew she didn't want to do this and helped her find a way not to. She was sick as a little dog that " one " day. Carol Trishasmom She isn't typical, She's Trisha!
