Guest guest
This is a forwarded message about a situation happening right now. It is way too typical. Medicaid waivers are way too restrictive, people want to live at home. Why don't they? It's not that I don't know the answer. I do. But it's the wrong answer. If anyone can email Governor Bush, it might help. Thanks, mtb T. Faculty University of Phoenix mtbclarion@... mtbclarion@... Central Time MT story in FL Westfall (linjoy2u@...) who will be thrown out of Wuesthoff Medical Center on Sunday, October 1, 2007. She is a ventilator user who is going home with no paid services because the State of Florida Medicaid office refuses to provide Medicaid Home Services BUT would pay to incarcerate in a nursing home. Her mom will be providing her services. -She has made a discrimination claim against the State of Florida through the Regional Manager HHS/OCR. -The P & A has been called twice but has not responded. -The local IL has not been able to assist. -The Medicaid office in Florida still claims there is NO APPEAL PROCESS. -Governor Bush says his office can do nothing. -Senator 's office staff has been very helpful and is working to resolve this issue. ********************************************************************************\ *************** Today's correspondence from : TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: I, Westfall do not belong in a nursing home and furthermore, I do not want to go to a nursing home. I want Medicaid to pay for my in home services after I am released from the hospital. Sincerely, Westfall TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: I am appealing the terminationof my home care service by Maxim Healthcare. When I was admitted to Wuesthoff Medical Center, September 2, 2006, I was discharged from the hospital on September 6, 2006. The usual arrangementr was made for my release including notifying Maxim of my return home. Hours later, Maxim notified the hospital that they were not going to readmit my case for home care services which I had been receiving prior to my admittance to the hospital. I have been receiving care in the Intensive Care Unit since then. Medicare will soon inform the hospital that they can no longer pay for my ICU care. Nursing home incarceration is a certainty if home care services are not obtained quickly. I am seeking a reinstatement of my home care services. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I can be contacted at Wuesthoff Hospital, ( ) _______________. Sincerely, Westfall ********************************************************************************\ ***************** Please continue to e-mail Governor Bush.
