Sara I knew you would be right in there working away to learn as much as

you can for Elie's future. I can only imagine and from what little I

hear about rural areas it is a difficult thing to provide services. 13

counties is a lot of area to cover. Don't get too lost in the maze.

Good to hear how other states are providing after HS services.

RE: IEP today/Sara

None of the places we have been since Elie turned 14 (official tranition

beginning year) have offered to have agencies speak. BUT, I have gone

to

eery meeting, conference on this subject and called all in the phone

book

where we have lived.

Here in rural Ga it is a little different in that there are so few

people of

any kind let alone with disabilities, that there is an umbrella service

agency for 13 counties funded by the fed to the state and then down to

the

umbrella agency. I have been in meeting with them, I have spoken to the

agency which contracts to them for services, and I am SLOWLY wending my

way

thru the maze.

Note all the layers between service receiver and funding point???????

And

all take their administrative cut.

Sara - Choose to make lemonade, not complain about the lemons.
