Guest guest
Wonder by Merchant (album Tigerlily) is supposed to be about a child with DS. I don't know if the DS link is true, but the lyrics could apply. The lyrics are below: " Wonder " Doctors have come from distant cities Just to see me Stand over my bed Disbelieving what they're seeing They say I must be one of the wonders Of god's own creation And as far as they can see they can offer No explanation Newspapers ask intimate questions Want confessions They reach into my head To steal the glory of my story They say I must be one of the wonders Of god's own creation And as far as they can see they can offer No explanation O, I believe Fate smiled and destiny Laughed as she came to my cradle Know this child will be able Laughed as my body she lifted Know this child will be gifted With love, with patience and with faith She'll make her way People see me I'm a challenge to your balance I'm over your heads How I confound you and astound you To know I must be one of the wonders Of god's own creation And as far as you can see you can offer me No explanation O, I believe Fate smiled and destiny Laughed as she came to my cradle Know this child will be able Laughed as she came to my mother Know this child will not suffer Laughed as my body she lifted Know this child will be gifted With love, with patience and with faith She'll make her way Quoting Mitch0519@...: > Hello everyone,, > > This year I have started a support group for our little city, and we are > having our first buddy walk. Guest guest
Hi , I'm excited for your walk! I started the walk here in Houston 6 years ago after my daughters were born, and to this day it is the single most proud day of my life! I hope you have a wonderful day as well. I don't know what kind of music your uncle performs, but for walking inspiration the people of all ages with DS really liked " We are the Champions " which is by Queen. If you're looking for little kid-ly songs, I like to sing " The Ants Go Marching.. " with Katy when we're walking or marching places. She loves the boom boom boom part. Found this list on a site for music to exercise...seems appropriate. 1. We Can Build It With Love 2. I'll Be There For You 3. Reach Out, I'll Be There 4. Break My Stride 5. Declaration Of Love 6. I Turn To You 7. The Cool Down Song 8. September 9. Come On Get Up 10. We Are Family 11. Feelin' So Good 12. Shining Star 13. Together Again 14. The Cool Down Song Hope that helps a little. Best of luck to you on your Walk! Let us know how it goes. suggestions Hello everyone,, This year I have started a support group for our little city, and we are having our first buddy walk. Guest guest
One of my favorite songs that is inspirational is by Des'ree (I think that's how it's spelled) called " You Gotta Be " . It makes me well up everytime I hear it and I think it really sums up what we do as parents of, well, children in general but children with disabilities in particular. Here are the lyrics - Listen as your day unfolds Challenge what the future holds Try and keep your head up to the sky Lovers, they may cause you tears Go ahead release your fears Stand up and be counted Don't be ashamed to cry You gotta be You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm You gotta stay together All I know, all I know, love will save the day Herald what your mother said Read the books your father read Try to solve the puzzles in your own sweet time Some may have more cash than you Others take a different view My oh my heh, hey You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm You gotta stay together All I know, all I know, love will save the day Don't ask no questions, it goes on without you Leaving you behind if you can't stand the pace The world keeps on spinning You can't stop it, if you try to This time it's danger staring you in the face Oh oh oh Remember Listen as your day unfolds Challenge what the future holds Try and keep your head up to the sky Lovers, they may cause you tears Go ahead release your fears My oh my heh, hey, hey You gotta be You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm You gotta stay together All I know, all I know, love will save the day You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm You gotta stay together All I know, all I know, love will save the day > > Hello everyone,, > > This year I have started a support group for our little city, and we are > having our first buddy walk.
