Guest guest
<<Margaret refresh my memory, what does TSS stand for. Louise>> Hi, Everyone....Louise....it stands for Therapeutic support staff....basically, the old wrap around services. G's TSS gets (forces the issue) him out of the house and into the community to do things. If G had his way, he would have stayed home instead of being at the picnic. He's content to lay on the floors and bang his rangers all day if you let him. His TSS works on social skills (what to ask/talk to people about, etc) how to play with kids at the community center, etc. << Margaret's oldest, , is such a nice guy and really enjoyed playing catch with him. I know it was nice too for to meet other siblings of kids like .>> Jayne...this was good for , too. He commented later that it was interesting seeing younger kids 'like Gareth use to be' ........meaning his brother has come a long way in the past 10 years!!! For all you people with young ones, the days may be hard now, but they do get better. <<I was so impressed with Gareth's ability to cope with all these people in his house, watching his movies, and playing with his toys - he was such a trooper. I loved sitting next to him at the table while he showed me his photo album from Utah. couldn't get enough of all of Gareth's " guys " - he has a huge collection of power rangers and other cool guys.>> You know, there was a time when I wouldn't even have attempted to have anyone over because of G's behavior. " Go home, my house " " My toys " He'd be slamming doors and telling people to " go away " or yanking some toy away from another kid that he had not touch for years, etc. I told him how proud I was of him for sharing all his toys....especially those power rangers!!! WOW..........there is hope!!! <<I live outside of Syracuse, NY, which might not be as centrally located for everyone. But, if people are willing to come up North -- I'd do it. The key word here is consider. lol. we'll talk, patty>> Patty........That's right, I forgot you are outside of Syracuse. I think you missed my response when you joined....I went to SUNY/Upstate...graduated in '76. My brother lives in Camillus and I also lived in Fulton a couple of years. It would be a great trip for me!!! Prayers for you, Liz. Take care, Everyone. Margaret
