Guest guest
Hi, Everyone....I know that when this comes up on the site, it's all 'funky' with weird inserts. I apologize , but I don't know why it starts out normal on my computer and ends up differently coming through cyber space. The First Annual DS/Autism Family Picnic It’s time to put faces on all of our cyber friends and families! All families are invited to a picnic on July 1, in Lititz, Pa., which is located 7 miles north of Lancaster, between burg and Philadelphia. The picnic will be held in Lititz Springs Park. It’s a beautiful, small park with a stoned lined stream running through it….lots of ducks, too. We will have a sheltered pavilion with a child’s playground next to it. Adjacent to the park is the Wilbur Chocolate factory and gift store. The park is located off main street with many small, quaint stores. Two blocks away is the Sturgis pretzel house where the kids can make their own pretzels. This is also Lititz’s 250th year birthday celebration. Should you decide to stay in the area to vacation, there will be a wonderful fireworks display on July 4th ---the best in the county, of course! Other near by attractions include the Amish farms, markets, and stores; the Hershey Amusement Park, chocolate factory, and zoo; lots and lots of outlet stores…there are no sales tax on clothes in Pa. Hershey is 40 minutes away, burg 45 minutes away, and Philly is 11/2 hrs away. Please e-mail Margaret Roof or this site if you wish to come. The response has been great so far, with families coming from Pa., Va., NY, Ill, Ohio, and Texas. Here is a web site showing the town and lodgings, etc.: http://www.shoplititz.com/default.asp
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I just FINALLY made my reservations at The Holiday Inn Express. I'm arriving June 30th and will leave July 2nd. I asked to have a room either near the pool or an elevator! Who else is staying at the hotel? Are you staying the same dates? Margaret, are you far from the hotel? Has a time been decided for the picnic yet? I wasn't sure if I'd missed that. Margaret, thank you for organizing this - it's gonna be great. Can't believe it's happening in less than a month!!! Thanks, Jayne mfroof@... wrote: Hi, Everyone....I know that when this comes up on the site, it's all 'funky' with weird inserts. Guest guest
HI all, Do you mind if I publicize this on the DS-autism Center spot on the disability solutions site? It means you may get some folks you don't know. Is that OK? Joan --- mfroof@... wrote: > > Hi, Everyone....I know that when this comes up on > the site, it's > all 'funky' with weird inserts. Guest guest
Hey Jayne, We'll be there the same dates. Although I didn't think to ask for a room near the pool. I made my reservations at two different times so we have a suite one night, and a regular room the second night. I think Margaret is like 5 minutes from the hotel. We arrive on the first (we'll probably go right to the picnic). Guest guest
OOOHHH a suite, well la dee! LOL! When I called there were only 3 non smoking rooms with 2 queen beds left, I took one. I figured the pool would be where all the action was so I thought I'd try and get close. She couldn't guarantee that for me but said she'd put in a request. I'm so looking forward to putting faces with names! Jayne smilinggail@... wrote: Hey Jayne, We'll be there the same dates. Although I didn't think to ask for a room near the pool. Guest guest
6/6 7:45 AM. I still have a bad signal to my wireless so don’t know when this will go out. loves the pool, he had a great time last weekend at the reunion with his siblings and nieces and nephews. He is like a fish in the water and will love it with others to play around with. It’s just hard to get his attention without his hearing aids but it always works out OK. Do you other kids sign? If so will be so startled when some strangers sign to him, he loves it. See you soon. Louise Re: Picnic notice Okay so maybe a suite is like 5 more square feet! LOL! Guest guest
Hi Louise, Look at you, you are so tech-savvy! Not only does she surf the web ladies but she's wireless too! LOL! So glad loves the pool too, my kids love it! My daughter signs as well as and myself. Does Holiday Inn Express know what they're in for with all of us? It's going to be a hoot! Picture all our kids doing the Stop, Drop, and Flop around the pool because they don't want to leave!!! Liz - even though your just " day-trippin' " , bring Tori's suit so she can swim and yours too so you can get in and " suffer " with me!!! LOL! Jayne Louise & Andy wrote: 6/6 7:45 AM.
