Guest guest
Hey there. This is a sweet note. Thanks! The truth is, we need to begin to bring in significant money to keep the work going. It's not a crisis yet, but fund raising has not been a visible thing and now we really need to get that moving. So....yes, if you want the newsletter to continue and the Down syndrome-autism center to become a reality, send the info around to everyone!!! The other thing is if you visit the page Louise posted (www.disabilitysolutions.org/giving/index.htm) you will see that YOU can create your own page to raise funds for the project too! And if you want to designatet hose funds for the center only, we can honor that. Later we will be posting information with ideas of what kids and adults can do to raise money. Lemonade stands, bake sales, do a volks march, whatever. I have a couple of volunteers working on the " package " for a few ideas that show how it can be an educational activity for someone - learning to use voice output, follow a recipe, watch teh money gauge grow on their personal web page, read the comments from their family and friends as they donate, etc. You know me, everything's a great learning activity! But yes, I can be more frank with you all as you are with me each day, and say that money is an issue that needs to be resolved. We only have one paid employee who multitasks (me) which helps us keep the money focused on programming. And yes, donations are tax deductible to the amount allowed by law. Take care, Joan > > Joan recently posted about her raising funds for Creating Solutions -- > HYPERLINK > " http://www.disabilitysolutions.org/giving/index.htm " http://www.dis abili > tysolutions.org/giving/index.htm .
