Guest guest
<<Anyone got a child who self injuries themselves? >> Hi, Everyone....I have a weeks worth of digest to go through. Hope everyone had a nice Easter/Passover. We were on the road to Grandma Roof's house. ....Gareth use to be head banger when he was younger. I put him on Risperdal when he was 10 and the head banging stopped. I was so afraid he would cause brain damage or make himself blind whenever he would bang on the tile floor. <<I think that sometimes using a medication opens a door that all the behavior management and teaching can't reach. Of course, once that door is open the teaching and behavior management must then happen. Karyn>> Ditto, here, Karyn. It's like a light bulb goes on and something clicks in their minds and they start to relate to learning/causes/consequences, etc. As for all you that have to deal with cleaning poop, I will think of how 'great' I have it that I only have to wipe the butt of a 17 y/o guy whenever he goes. Thanks for allowing me to understand such a 'blessing.' Take care, Everyone. Margaret
