Guest guest
Hello everyone, We are 's parents (Deanna & ). I wanted to let everyone know we are new to the group and thankful for any support and services availble. and I have been going to two different support groups along with differnt doctors, web sites etc. and never feeling like we fit in. When I find your site hope was found. It is great to see ,that there are others knowing, feeling, and experiencing day to day what we go through. I have read several e- mails and understand. is our third child. He was dx. with Downs @ 6mths. and Autism @ 3yrs. He is speaking two word sentences. His first word was eat instead of mama or dada. haha We know he is a blessing to our family yet the days of meltdown....we all melt down. My 17 year old son and my 13 year old daughter want him " fixed " when this happens but they know reality. We take shifts....I guess you can say we are our own little health care team right at home. If one gets burned out another offers to take over. Prayer and faith keep us strong, but this web sit helps with hope. I am a Registered Nurse and my husband is a Paremedic. My older children know the first aid, CPR, and any medical instructions we can teach them.....but no medical background will ever be enough with what any family with a special needs child go through. Thanks again for accepting us into this group and together new answers, services and support will happen for all. God Bless. Deanna
