Guest guest
Congratulations so happy for Trisha and you worked so hard for this, now enjoy. Louise IEP and ESY Well we finally finished the IEP and we got ESY with no problem! She will go to school year round with time off for holidays, school closings and 2 weeks vacation. I think we put together a pretty good IEP this time. I'm pleased so far anyways. :-) Carol Trishasmom She isn't Typical, She's Trisha! -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
Thanks! This will be the first time she has gotten ESY in all her school years and she will also continue to get ST and OT during the summer which is also a first for her through the school. We've also split up the 2 weeks vacation so that she doesn't go an extended length of time without her routine and therapies. See they didn't believe me (just the parent) that she could do more until now, with the right mixture of teaching and learning styles she is blossoming slowly but surely. It also helps that the school is backing me up which also makes a big difference. It's hard to deny when you see the proof sitting in front of you. :-) The sad part is that is also proves that they don't listen to the parents like they are supposed to otherwise this would have been happening a lot sooner than it did. :-( Carol Trishasmom She isn't Typical, She's Trisha! Trisha didn't show signs of regression because she didn't show signs of progress either. We showed that just over the Christmas break this year they had to go back and re-teach some of the things she had just learned before the break. Carol Trishasmom She isn't Typical, She's Trisha! Guest guest
Hi Carol, I suppose coming from your district they would misinterpret ESY too. I completely understand why they denied Trisha all these years. Thankfully she is where she needs to be learning. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 13 DS/OCD/ASD? Will this be the same for Trisha? no, she will go a full day and have the same therapies and services just like she does now. The Autism school is an all year school it's just that the school district only pays to send for the regular school year. But now they will pay for her to go year round. Guest guest
Hi Carol, Oh that is correct I forgot its the school district you're dealing with. This sounds great. I'm glad that Trisha is receiving the services needed. Is there a break in between? attends ESY half day but the remaining of the day he attends Movement Program which last summer was on a daily basis for 2 weeks which he enjoys alot, then twice a week with his private ABA sessions. Now, I would not have to do this if only there was a school that would provide services like the school Trisha attends. Did receive notice from an ABA therapist who has a center out in KY and moving out here to SA who works with the older kiddos and is considering opening a clinic and becoming partners with the certified behavior specialist is seen by who is moving sometime during the summer. I want to jump for joy but have to see it to believe it. At least has a foot in the door when this happens. This is Mr. website. Maybe someone has heard of the center he runs, any comments? http://www.abatherapy.net/ Irma,17,DS/ASD -- In , Csvillars@... wrote: > > no, she will go a full day and have the same therapies and services just > like she does now.
