Hi all,

will be having her tonsils and adenoids out March 1st, her

adenoids are large and the ENT seems to think it will help her mouth

breathing and restless nights. She will be getting her ear tubes put

back in as well. So, does anyone have experience in the T & A procedure?

I have been through tubes, and her heart surgery, but not at age 3.

She was much younger. Now, she's older, does not eat much, and will

only sometimes drink from a bottle-straw. We're playing phone tag with

the ENT to tell him all this, but I was just curious as to what

everyone else has gone through?

Hi ~

Dylan was about 3 1/2 for his tonsilectomy & 5 when he has his adnoidectomy.

Dylan was is still is a very picky eater & what I did was take some of our own

things that we knew we could get him to eat to the hospital, as well as his

favorite sippy cup. We stayed over night....maybe even two, I can't remember

anymore. It's good they are doing it all at once...I feel bad Dylan's wasn't

done that was & we had to put him through 2 surgeries.

Make sure to take her favorite videos....or DVD's. That was a big help to us

too. They usually have a good collection there at the hospital, but Dylan

always would be stuck on 1 or 2 at a time.

Good luck & let us know how it goes!
