Guest guest
I have found when 's environment, both residentially and work are under control he is his happy, loving self. There were times in the past when things weren't going well where he lived and he came home for a visit he would come for hugs even more frequently as an assurance that all was well with us when he visited. At 43 he still comes for hugs. Louise question After only being in this group for a few months and reading your post, it startles me. I see so many things in Adam that lead me to believe he may have PDD. But,, my family finds many reasons to dismiss adams behavior, such as he's getting older, he's just a boy, even he that he is still a baby, or all baby's go through that phase. They make me second guess myself. But Adam is doing so many of the things that are brought up on this group. I am scared to lose all the love and cuddling Adam does,, Do any of you guys that have children with Autism or PDD still have affectionate behavior? At this point even his dr is many excuses for it,,, but Monday we finally get to see a genetics and im hoping she will help in figuring out if adam is just going through phases. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
Hi Lousie, its so nice to hear is still loveable. I always say to myself if Mic just stays happy.I was very worried hed lose that.Mic isnt much of a cuddler when hes tired or sick thats about it he wont sit on my lap but he will walk up to me and hug me.He knows the sign for hug and here he comes signing hugs very sweet.I love it.Mama comes out when hes really stressed thats it.So I know he knows Im mama. When Dad gives him meds Mic whines MAMA mamamamamamama!!! And of course I come running. If the cat scratches him he does it.If I look at him and say mama he slaps me in the face. Go figure. How are all of you? Oh that makes me happy is still hugging and cuddling. Maybe its the ds that makes our kids so loveable because none of the other kids in Mics school are.None of them have ds either. I feel sorry for them because they sure look like they are in need of hugs.I can occasional coax a quick hug from one of them but not often.
