Guest guest
Hi Laurie, Its sad when sharing about your opinions and others end up receiving it differently. What many forget is the fact that they have a child with some issues and need the support of many as you have shared too. It never fails, hope something comes to a rest with that other group, one best way is changing the subject or let it cool down for now and do not stress yourselve anymore over it. You have bigger fish to fry and that is Mic's future surgery to think of and during his recovering time, my prayers will be with you and may Mic recover well. There is alot of underlying medical issues going on with Mic so take it one day at a time and in the mean time, do alot of music therapy with him or interact with some reading, your verse. You know doing the " silly mommy things " . During the evening some Mozart to help relax and during the morning some sing-a-long depending how he feels with something that interest him. Play with some of those cute hand-puppets doing the " Wh " questions. Take care, Irma,17,DS/ASD > > Thank you Irma. I was totally against ABA even when I enrolled Mic. I did that because no other school was helping and Mics slp from EI told me to try it.Plus this group. All the children in Mics school have their own modified version of ABA.I have been watching this debate go on at the apraxia group and am very unhappy the way the moderator {whom I love} thinks about autism in general. People are leaving the group. Its sad ,thats a wonderful group I posted to them do not do this. I need this group I explained that to them. And Joan knows I need this group. So do those parents. What a shame. Mic has been so sick and regressed but coming back only to have surgery next Friday and here we go again.I never know who I have after surgery and the regression UGH! So I am stressing.I am sorry to hear about you are having problems with the school and " Life Skills " I hear that alot. I know you will get what he needs.I keep it in mind. They are doing great with Mic as far as that goes.I was > wondering how you were feeling. Nice to have you back.
