Guest guest
So after we recovered from 's hospital run, I caught it Thursday on the way home from his Private OT. I was stuck in traffic waiting to go through one of the many tunnels we have here in Hampton Roads. I was just praying that I could hold on until I got home! I did but it hit full blast. Just when I thought I couldn't feel any worse, I spiked an outrageous fever while in the bathroom, got up to go lay down and blacked out! I fell and hit my cheekbone and collarbone on the speaker in our bedroom. In true Jayne form, my husband found me laying on the floor of our bedroom naked moaning in pain! He's like, " what the heck happened?! " " And why are you naked? " (I'm cracking up just writing this because it's so darn funny - my husband and I just keep laughing about it - now that I've lived to tell about it!) I tried to explain what happened but really couldn't explain how I got from Point A to Point B. But both my arms from the elbow down were totally tingling and I was still boiling. Finally my strange fever broke and I was able to get up. The next morning when I looked in the mirror and saw the huge bruise on the side of my face I was like, oh that's why that hurts so bad! So now I'm finally up and at em after a whole week lost to 's and my illness run! You can imagine the state of my house after Mommy being unavailable for almost a week! I've finally got it so that we can function again! Of course the true woman in me couldn't resist weighing myself before I got in the shower to see just how much weight I'd lost! 6 pounds, not bad! Of course it will probably be back on before Sunday evening! Isn't that just sick and twisted - I suffer through a virus and my only thought, once I can stand, is " hmm, how much weight did I lose? " I admit it, I have issues! LOL! Well, as class clown on this list serv, there you go - today's entertainment! Guest guest
Hi Jayne, There are times when you just have to admit you are sick, stay home and go to bed. You are very fortunate to only have bruises and not a face full of stitches. The housework isn't going anywhere so don't stress over it. You need to take it slow and really get better. The kids seem to bounce back fast but the older we get the longer it takes. It's a good thing you can find humor in all of this, 6 lbs. huh,LOL. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 13 DS/OCD/ASD? Guest guest
Thanks Charlyne. You're so right, is does take so much longer to bounce back the older we get! Feeling much better today despite the battered wife look I'm sporting. And yes, I do count my lucky stars that I'm didn't end up in worse shape. Thanks, Jayne charlyne olko wrote: Hi Jayne, There are times when you just have to admit you are sick, stay home and go to bed. Guest guest
OMG, can you believe us women?! Hey 7 pounds isn't too shabby but I know what you mean - especially after just ice chips and IV for SEVERAL days! UGH - Men never consume themselves with this silly thought process! I'm sure if I stepped on the scale right now, I've probably gained it all back after the bowl of soup and twix bar I just had! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. How are YOU feeling? I thought of you when I was watching Oprah yesterday and a Doctor was explaining what Diverticulitis is. It's from not eating a high enough fiber diet right? Is it reversible? Yes, I'm thankful I didn't break anything too - I REALLY don't have time for that! LOL! It's raining here and we just might get a whole INCH of snow tonight from the Nor'easter. You probably are being hit hard by it. Take care and thanks for laughing along with me. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks we deserve a little reward, like weightloss, after being ill! Guest guest
Well, I gained back 3 already!!!!! =( How, I have no idea!!! Well, I did give up Pepsi... =( and am living on water alone. I started the patch for smoking (listen I haven't started drinking yet!) and am having some pain right now. This thing better stay dormant until I get to the dr. on Monday. I hear alot of people develop this issue, and some have done well with recovery and some haven't. I am watching everything I eat so as not to aggravate it. We are in the midst of a NE snowstorm..supposed to get up to 1 ft. of snow. YIPEE!!
