Guest guest
Hi Dawn, HAPPY NEW YEAR 2006! Here is wishing this New year for you that will continue progressing in the areas needed and you " mom " finding some relief to know that you are on the right track for him at least to some extent than not having any resource information. I find myself back at the computer this morning with the relief of the meds I'm under as I'm such an early bird and unable to do anything besides get back on my feet and circulate them with small walking steps needed, so wanted to return to my comfort zone reading and caught your message, thanks. Just returned yesterday evening from one of my sis's house and my surgery was a success this past Thursday now its just following my doc's order's. I have a wonderful doc, Thank God! My dh will be home for the return of school this coming week and hope cooperates with his dad as mom will be out of order at least for the first week. My sister told me that was doing wonderful for her, she even had gotten him to do so much as he was regressing in some areas which were some of my concerns. My biggest concern has been the fact of him inititating to the restroom as he has been having lots of peeing accidents in his pants, even at school. In a way wonderful as I have to continue pushing them for " Total communication " that they must find some form of communication for him to make his wants and needs known. The school forgets that just because he masters one area (like staying on task and transitioning well during activities)that the communication goals are still needed. I was told behind the scenes mom is too smart and In-Home or parent Training is not needed my way, huh! Nice compliment but hey there is so much that he will do for others that he will not do for me. Typical teenager. This is the last month of him being under a GI study which has not shown any changes, this may be the the cause of his peeing accidents, hard to tell. I'm back having to take him about every couple of hours, as my sis worked with him had him do this and ended up just tapping her wrist for time for restroom and he cooperated nicely. What I've told the the medical team that this study lacks that I brought up with this pilot study is the fact that the patients be examined via endoscopy at the beginning and end of the study to measure any type of disease-related damage in the GI tract. This is my next mission to have him tested by a GI as I never have consider it in the past but see that there would need to be some compelling data indicating benefit, measurable demonstration of healing which I have found some interest that play an important role in fostering research on nutrition and the GI issues. Once the study is done with, I already have a wonderful Naturopathy and nutritionist lined up for him to be seen by which I'm looking forward to as I've already done my homework on. Boy, I hope I'm back on my feet again soon as I have been invited with the AU Research Ctr. to attend a AU free medical conference with them on the 14th and another workshop on Positive Behavioral Intervention. Its such an honor to be asked and included here locally as everyone has been opening their doors for and I, even when they're free. Wow! A good sign writing this message rambling on & still doing well, but better not over do it. You all are like family to me and I truly from the bottom of my heart want to wish you the very happiest, successful New Year!
