Adopt A Child

AutismCares has over 150 families in our database that need help after the

Gulf Hurricanes. We are working to provide them with housing, clothing, food,

medicines, and other necessities. These families are facing an uncertain future

and a holiday season that will be bare minimum, at best. We need your help to

bring the holidays to these families. Below is a list of children affected by

the hurricanes and some of their needs and wishes. Please share your generosity

this holiday season with a child.

share your kindness with this holiday! Then click on the child's name to email

us that you would like to " adopt " this child. We will then send you their

mailing address and you can ship the items to the family directly. If you have

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do all of these children have autism? No, these are all the children in each

of the families we are assisting so some are siblings but there are at least one

child with autism in every family.

Can I forward this information to people who do not have children with autism?

Absolutely! These children need the generosity of anyone who cares.

Do all of the items we send need to be new? No, if it's an expensive item,

like an XBox, it can be gently used as long as it's good working condition.

What if two people pick the same child? We'd find it a wonderful problem to

have too many donors! We are working long hours to keep the list current but

there may be lags between your offer and our updating the site (as we do need to

sleep). In this event, the first email that came in will get to adopt the child

and the next email offer will be asked to adopt another child.

Should I ship the gifts now or wait a few weeks? Please ship it as soon as you

can because the postal service is taking 3-5 weeks to arrive (even priority

mail) and UPS takes 1-2 weeks to arrive.
