Guest guest
The new People is out and cleared up a few things about Jett, the Travoltas and Scientology. It was a really, really sad article and I don't feel very well right now, but I'm glad at least that the family is being let off the hook. Apparently, Scientology *does* recognize autism but, like the environmental movement, they don't see it as a psychiatric condition but as a medical one. The representative went on to say that the church would never make medical diagnoses on behalf of anyone. The rep said that the church has no say in actual medical treatment for illness-- that members who are sick go to regular doctors and take prescription drugs and seizure medication for seizures, etc.-- they just disagree with the use of psychiatric drugs for " mental illness " or ADHD. Also, the article said that Jett had been on a wheat-free diet. I don't know if that's a hint that Jett was on GF/CF or that he was clinically celiac. Guest guest
Epilepsy is not a mental illness, it is neurological. There are clear biomarkers for it beyond observing and measuring behavior (EEGs). Because of advances in medical imaging, they are finding more and more " mental " illnesses are actual physical disorders due to a combination of genes, environment and physiology. Biomarkers for autism are on the horizon as well. There are experimental urine tests used in the DAN! protocols. Hopefully once biomarkers are established, the label " autism " will be rendered obsolete as subset forms of environmental toxicity. Just as the most effective cure for alcoholism is the cessation of ingesting alcohol, the cure for autism will be the removal of toxins from the environment (and not abducting or aborting aspies). The only damn drugs needed will be to help heal the already poisoned. Lenny > > The new People is out and cleared up a few things about Jett, the > Travoltas and Scientology. Guest guest
I speak from experience when I say that once a parent has seen their child have a serious seizure -They will do anything in their power to prevent another. Unfortunately, just as ASD kids get little or no help from the medical community, kids with seizures probably get less in my opinion. Guest guest
No drugs? But what about little Jimmy and Ginny Sanofi and Peggy Pasteur? And Barbie and Kenny Lilly? What about their futures? Daddy's yacht? The lodge in Bavaria? Money doesn't grow on trees you know. It grows in epidemics. Tsk. You anti-vaxologists have no mercury...I mean mercy. Lame jokes aside, I hope your vision comes to pass. > > > > The new People is out and cleared up a few things about Jett, the > > Travoltas and Scientology. Guest guest
On preston.com - she has a link to drug-free and DAN like doctor's practice. I honestly think Jett had autism and they were doing alernative methods - they were against SSRI and psychiatric drugs - as are I - so I think they were pretty much doing what we all do (just no publically). As far as the seizure drugs - they may have stopped to try new ones or see if other things were working. Who knows - at the end of a the day a tragedy! God forbid something happens to my kiddo - I'll be (more) villified for not vaccinating, trying vodoo sciences (chelation and alternative therapies and herbs), being anti-medical (no SSRIs), and starving my kid with a GFCF diet!
