Guest guest
, You are truly a woman of this millenium. My hat's off to you for the very helpful information you have here. My daughter's blood doc wanted to know about this, and now I have something to show. She sees numerous doctors who are specialists and I will pass this along. In my daughter's pediatrician's office recently, I noted a large sign saying, "We are out of the _____ _____ mist flu vaccine." Now I know why. Her doctor is Dr. W. Wayne Grant, and is in with a group of physicians in the medical area (free parking) just off Babcock, and evidently they are now informed about thimerasol. In any case, they were offering an option. I hope to meet you one day. My daughter is a darling 15 almost 16 year old, and I live my life for her, for the most part, although I approach higher ed studies mostly for my own sake. I have two Masters and am seeking a PhD. as soon as I can decide just what I'd like to study, meaning, write a doctorate or book, about. I hope to explore something of help to those of us affected by the autism spectrum disorder in the family. I have already formulated an online intimacy building program for all ages using Inspiration software, if you are interested. I have called upon newer parenting experts. My second (recent) Masters in in Ed, tech and design. Once again, you are obviously a researcher, and I thank you! Pineau (retired chaplain, now homeschooler of a darling Aspergers daughter, ) p.s. for your own sanity, I recommend getting on Dan Coulter's mailing list, as he writes uniformly helpful and encouraging brief articles each month for parents, teachers and caregivers. He and his wife produce expert video on all aspects of ASD for all situations. Seek Spiritual Results, Lis A. The local news interviewed a parent of a vaccine injured ASD child last night, but most of the segment was about how beneficial this school vaccine program will be for low income families who could not otherwise afford vaccines. School taxes will pay for the vaccines. Here is the proposed flu vaccine pilot program for the 2009-2010 school year. Here are the details of this bill which may become an act:http://www.legis. state.tx. us/tlodocs/ 81R/billtext/ html/HB00506I. htmTexas still allows for vaccine exemption if you have the notarized vaccine exemption form on file for your children. Here is a chart I found showing which vaccines are thimersol free on the CDC website, and I have sent this to every school nurse, parent, pediatrician and family that I know so that they can request the safer brands.http://www.cdc. gov/flu/about/ qa/vaxsupply. htmI took this chart to a popular grocery store pharmacy during their flu shot fair, and the pharmacists said they did not carry the thimersol-free brands yet were giving flu shots to children and pregnant moms. Quite alarming. My son is mercury toxic, so I will join other parents in Texas to communicate our concerns. If anyone has experience with state advocacy for a safe or staggered vaccine schedule, I would appreciate your input. From past experience, we will not win this battle if we are anti-vaccine (instead we will be labelled as crazy and uneducated parents, as we have been already by a local pediatrician who sits on the board of AAP).Thanks,
Guest guest
, My opinion (based on what happened to our bill in Arkansas) is that if you can get some physicians to speak on your behalf, it will be an easier sell-the primary opponents of a mercury bill are going to be the docs and health officials. If any of you have found good pediatricians willing to stick their necks out a little on this one, I think it would be VERY worthwhile. Short of that, perhaps Dr. Jepson or one of the other TH folks might help? Love Wakefield, but he may be too controversial for this? In any case, if you get some docs as the faces behind the message, it doesn't look like it's " crazy moms vs. doctors who know what they're talking about " - it plays well in the news segments that way also because those watching will know there really is a controversy and not all doctors agree. Boyd Haley is also always willing to speak about the dangers of mercury, and he would send anyone who tried to call it a " safe amount of mercury " running with their tails between their legs:) Best, > > Pharmaceutical companies are generously sponsoring this flu vaccine > pilot program in Texas for the 2009-2010 school year. Guest guest
Well, mainly what we can learn from AR is what NOT to do:) I was very naiive and inexperienced and had no clue what I was up against. I assumed that since I was in the right, convincing legislators wouldn't be a problem- especially with Dr. Haley speaking for us. Needless to say, I was very disheartened to see how the political system actually works:( But we just have to fight harder and smarter... > > , > Thanks for blazing the trail ahead in Arkansas. > Love ya > > > >
