Hi Everyone, Hoping all of you are doing great. I am busy but still reading

posts. I read the post " child bit my son at school " and wanted to tell this

story.Last weekend Mic 5 years old and the size of a 2 year old went to spend a

few hours at the respite house our county provides. This is only the 2nd time he

has gone there.I dropped him off at noon and when I came back at 7pm to pick him

up there was a huge rug burn splat in the midle of his forhead. The respite

worker said oh alittle bump and bruise. OK, well as the nite wore on Mics nose

appeared to have fingernail scratches appearing inside it and the bruise was a

big bump on his head, when I changed him for bed I found what appeared to be

pinch marks on his belly.I knew right away what happened. There was another boy

about 9 and big who also goes to Mics school staying that nite too.Hes violent

at home and with other his brothers and sisters and has already thrown a metal

truck at another little boy in that respite house and

gave him a horrible black eye. When I saw the other boy was staying there all

kinds of red flags went up in my mind. I left Mic anyway, thinking well, they

know hes violent so they will watch Mic.I will never leave Mic there

again.Monday the school sends an incident report home for me to sign coming from

child protective services. I then called the respite supervisor and asked for

their incident report on Mics brusiing. There was no report. There is now, and I

am sending it to school.I have so much guilt for leaving Mic there. I do

understand these things happen Mic is in a strict ABA program and I have seen

kids melt down and get out of control many times. From now on at the respite

house the other child has a 1 to 1.That doesnt change the guilt I feel. And

alittle anger and alot of disappointment. We finally left Mic and went out to

have some time alone and looked what happened. The people we trusted him with.I

dont have any answers and I do know this will happen again sooner or

later we are in a school with all autistic children. I also know Mic could be

the one causing the bruises on another child although he isnt yet. My heart goes

out to the mom of this boy, it could be me someday. Laurie
