Guest guest
<< have two questions i need hlep with, first, how long should i give nathan b4 we decide its not working at the middle school? Its only been abut 2 weeks. he has been with this associate for over a month so i dont think its her. >> Hi, Everyone....a....Did have behavioral issues like this before the Aricept? If not, then I take Gareth off any med that causes negative behaviors....especially if it is so early on in the trial period. I refuse to wait for a drug to 'kick in' if it is already causing a negative reaction. Why put through that if it is not his normal demeanor? We tried Gareth on Aricept yrs. ago and I so no change in behavior, speech, or memory. As for the shaving, G's been doing it for a couple of yrs. He uses an electric one.....does a pretty poor job, but we will 'clean' him up every couple of days or so. <<I have tried other autism forums and this is the most active one I have come across.>> Cindi...that's because we all sit around all day tossing Bon Bons in our mouths!!! Just kidding!!! <<I just wrote out the word 'gumpshun' and put it on my wall. Kinda says it all for me. Thanks, Florence >> Let me know if it works for you....maybe I should do that, too!!! FWIW.....mornings like today, just make me want to crawl in a hole and tune out the world. How can Gareth be so anti-water/soap when so many of your kids love it (Maddie eats it!!!) and swim so well?!?!? He's 17....he won't use deodorant, hence the daily 'must' of a morning shower. His hair is getting that greasy look.....It's only day two of the school year. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This morning, I just walked away for 5 minutes till he was ready to comply. He knows I am angry...which is a good sign...but still says no to the shower and hair washing, etc. Take care, Everyone.
